Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

We've fitted a Bosch pump on our 1.9XUD in a ZX Estate today. Wiring is the only problem. Would also like to know what these two bits of the pump are, what the purpose is etc. It was a Lucas but we have a few Bosch pumps in stock so we swapped the two- we'll recon and store the Lucas pump till one day we may use it.

If you are getting a good spark & it wont even kick with starting spray you either have a timing or compression issue. Check the valve timing, just because the cams are turning doesent mean the timing belt hasn't stripped a few teeth or jumped the timing. Make sure the crank & cams are correctly aligned.

I believe that, if the Webasto unit malfunctions, it can usually be reset by disconnecting the power supply to it for a few (10 ?) seconds.

Unfortunately, according to the handbook, I can’t see any fuse for the unit. Does anyone know an easy way to disconnect the power to the unit ? I guess I could simply disconnect the block connector by the...

Thanks for that - in 165,000 miles I have never once had to reset anything (oh, apart from driver’s window once or twice) so I wasn’t sure what I might be letting myself in for 😳

However, luckily, I was able to clear a fault code with a cheapish reader I’ve got and all is now working ok.

I have trawled through the on-line manuals and downloaded that kindly uploaded by “GiveMeABreak” on the site but do not see a reference to where the Power-Steering LDS hydraulic oil Bleed Screw is located (or if such even exists).

Problem No 1
My 2016 GP has developed the following problem. Everything ok for first mile or so then manual gear selection with paddles will not work and cannot select manual with lever it stays in auto.
After about another 10 miles display pops up Gear Box Fault etc .

G'day, on my Mk1 C5 power steering line from the pump there is a sensor plumbed into the line.

I have a replacement line from a Mk2 car which doesn't have the sensor at all.

They have different part numbers but look similar apart from the switch, I'm assuming this is a pressure sensor?

A local shop has a OBD 2 diagnostic tool at a reasonable price and I was thinking of getting one for my Citroen C3 (2004) diesel HDi

I know where the plug is located in the car, but I am not sure if it is a OBD or and OB2 connector on the 04 C3.

Hello I have a weird problem regarding my C5 2006 Kombi Hdi
Engine just shuts down after it heats up to working temperature,and I cant start the engine for 60 seconds. After that I can start up engine but some times it just shuts down again or I can drive again no problems. Temperature gauge doesnt show overheating.

Thanks. It doesn't leak, that rubber falls out and is worn out.

That rubber is just trim but almost impossible to satisfactorily replace in my experience... It often crinkles in the cold and reverts to normal shape when it's warmer...

I once tried to rescue the rubber from a scrap tailgate and failed miserably and ended up just living with...

Hi, i have a citroen saxo 1.5 diesel and it has 109000kms, timing belt was changed at 66000 kms with a genuine timing belt kit, complete with everything including water pump.

Now, what mileage i should change it again ? And can i change the belt only or should i change the tensioners and idler aswell as a precaution? I do city driving and lots of...

After finding numerous questionable pipes on my Activa while doing the ram repair job, I thought I'd better get some replacements. I didn't have time to wait for pipes to arrive from Pleiades, and had no luck with finding one on here (see here - ). So instead I bought a suspension pipe flaring tool, and some 3.5mm and 4.5mm kunifer to go along...

Hi.
What are the implications changing the ECU on a 2008 Citroen Relay 2.2hdi Puma Engine? Would it need reprogramming at Citroen, or any other related work?
Any advice is welcome, but a mechanic friend has found the probable answer to a 2 year problem, so just need to know if its easy swap?

It's called the S1279 Module and is for use with the VCI and Diagbox software often needed for certain commercial vehicles. Whether you need it or not depends on what diagnostic system your 'Programming Expert' is using. I would consult with them first - they should know.

Hi all,

I have a Citroen DS5 Hybrid (62 plate 2012).

My Xenon Lights have developed an issue. When I unlock the car, the welcome lights all turn on as normal. When I press 'start/stop' button the xenon lights flash on and off three times then switch off and cannot be switched back on again until I leave the car, lock and unlock and re-enter....

The Xenons do go through the dip test when the car starts (not sure if the error is anything to do with that at this stage).

Today I find Daffodil's brake fluid is looking very manky and needs to be changed. It's dark brown and looks more like well-worn LHM rather than standard brake fluid :shock:

Being an LHM man at heart I'm finding the whole (new to me) subject of brake fluid types a bit confusing and muddled..

Hi,

I am hoping for a Christmas miracle here.

I put the driver's electric window down today and it will not go back up.

I have tested the wires (4: beige, blue, yellow & green and green) there is voltage in the beige and the green when the button is pressed up and down. I'm not sure what the 4 wires are for, Power for Up, unsure for blue, Earth...

The top strut mount bearing have failed on my pre facelift 2014 Relay, a common problem. I have 2 new top mounts from the facelift model Relay that have been redesigned, they will fit mine BUT I am missing the rubber isolators that sit between the new mounts and the top of the springs. Does anyone know or can check if these rubbers are available...

Hello all. I posted recently about my 2005 2ltr hdi Berlingo Multispace losing power. It still runs okay when this happens but wont go above 3000 revs. A local garage told me it was the maf sensor, so I replaced it. It was fine...for half a day then the problem returned. A mate then plugged in his diagnostic machine and it brought up 5 faults. I...

My Dad's Berlingo was recently hit by a UPS driver. Their insurance guy deemed it a Cat S write off. I have retained the vehicle on his behalf for the cost of salvage (£72!). I had the same problem as you! Esp/Asr fault was appearing on the screen of my 1.6 diesel C5.
I just baught a used yaw sensor about 10 euros :lol: and I changed it. It was very easy! :) :)
Now the fault and the yellow triangle gone and it seems to be fine..the time will show!

Information on the internet is scarce and after a few failed attempts, I figured I'd ask here.

I need to remove the speedo/warning light/display cluster from my C3 Picasso to swap out the LCD for a newer one. I can't seem to be able to pull to make it pop out. I've tried wedging a screwdriver under the unit to get some leverage. I tried yanking...

Bought this car with a stripped timing belt.
Renewed 8 valves, seals etc.
Head back on.
Ready now to put the timing belt etc. on.

Seems improbable to get my squiggly timing pin in the back of the flywheel as there is the oil filter mount assembly there.

On the crank pulley mounting flange there is a decent, factory cut, mark that...

Hi everyone
I’ve got a Citroen xsara saloon hdi 90 it’s becoming difficult to start in the mornings, I’ve tested the glow plug circuit and there is no power on switching in the ignition.
Any ideas on where to look first any help would be appreciated

Try testing the Glow plug circuit when the engine is cold it should stay on for a while after the light on the dash goes out, there is a thermal cut out switch that cuts power to the relay and plugs when engine is hot.
Could be a faulty relay......
On cold mornings I usually turn on ignition for 5 secs then off again, repeat two more times and...

Hello!

GiveMeABreak and i found some evidence that my car was planned to roll out with parking lights.
Found wiring diagrams that mentions it, also my original xenon headlight (2011 tourer) has a blank white placeholder plug in the very back corner.
Left headlight is from 2011 original citroen
Right headlight is made in 2020, also original...

Ok, so confirmed that you have the earlier Xenon lamp design with directional lighting.

So a couple of things to try:

1) Try disabling them from the Menu accessed from the steering wheel scroll buttons temporarily, then operate the lights and see if they still flash.
2) Try Raising and lowering the suspension a few times to 'exercise' the height...

I have citroen C3 picasso - 1.6 hdi from 2011 (just bought it) and what I find really annoying is that every time, after 2-3 minutes of starting the engine I can hear an audible sound, like a short beep; no warning light, no change in the way car drives or handles. I do not hear that beep again whilst driving. I simply do not know what it can be....

When i turn the key the starter spins but dosen't engage . my ignition cylinder is loose

as well as the key inserted in

I have to push and drag upwards the key to start the car, but seems that dosen't work anymore.

The car has a new battery and a checked and cleaned starter.

Should i make a copy of the key or buy another ignition...

If the starter is turning over but the engine is not starting, it sounds like an immobiliser issue. Have you checked the battery in the key fob?

It could also be the transponder coil or the ignition barrel. These can weaken and damage the barrels if lots of objects have been put on a keyring for example or even just one or two heavy items. As the...

I now have a Picasso .

It was a good deal its an 03 plate with the 2.0hdi which after advice about the reliability of this engine its what i went for.

It drives nice and having a test drive last month in the 1.6hdi there is a noticeable difference between the two.

Complete . bolts done the space to do this is a joke , I taped a ratchet spanner to a long screw driver to reach the unreachable ones !

Double checked every thing else plus a long bar with my cut done scaffold pole and another yank of the bottom pulley bolt ... Almost lifting the car off its axle stand think that's plenty tight enough. !

I've got a C5 Mk1.
I've just had the EOLYS fluid topped up.
When I floor it anti pollution fault comes up.
It was doing it before I filled up the pat fluid up.
The fault stays on (usually) for about a day and a half then goes off.
The car does not miss a beat or smoke or anything whilst it's on.
I read elsewhere that this could be a low voltage...

Hello
I have a problem with a sliding side door on my Citroen Nemo Multispace.
The door opens about an inch and then stops. It's as if the lock is not quite opening far enough to fully release the latch.
Before I take it apart just thought I would ask you for some advice.
Does the mechanism perhaps just need some lubrication, or can it be...

My 2001 C5 2.2 HDI is currently with a local Citroen specialist who tells me there's a fault in the ABS unit (solenoid shorting). He's finding it difficult to source this part - says there are plenty of Mark 3 units available, but I need a Mark 1.

Is this likely to be a case of having to scrap a perfectly good car just because one part is...

This sort of thing is a terrible waste of resources - those engines will easily do 200,000 miles, so at 120,000 mine's less than two-thirds of the way through its potential life.
