Citroen xantia rear suspension

Hello group i have a issue with the rear suspension i changed the rubber on the suspension cylinder and car wont go up anymore it goes on the highest setting or the lowest but not in the middle the front is alright but the rear stays down did anyone had the same issue or does anyone know what to do to fix it

1st thing to do SUPPORT the Car on stands !

2nd, get under the back, clean the height corrector with WD40 type "tin oil"......the oil with a good grade of "normal oil" or spray grease ensuring you get into the joints etc.....

Cycle suspension 4/5 times high /low then try high/normal/low/high/normal/low/normal

try that.

Also check the rods and the "dog-bone" is free to move on the corrector and the roll bar. Check the roll bar clamp is tight (Do not move/unbolt this without MARKING is position accurately before you do !

Thank you for the reply the clamp on the roll bar has moved out the position the problem is i dont remember its original position how can i position on its proper position.

You just need to back the clamp bolt off, and then tap the clamp round till the height is right.

But, again, do not get under an unsupported car while you do this, as the suspension can drop unexpectedly. Best done on a 4 post ramp, or over a pit.

My first question on your reply is ?? How did/when did it move ?

The kind of work the OP has done may just have popped off the 'dogbone' link between the Anti-Roll Bar and height corrector.

Look for the simple things first before adjusting anything. I've had the above happen before now when doing jobs that might move the Anti-Roll Bars around...
