programming new keys

Good news first, I've managed to get a new van after the older one went kaput the other day, only trouble is its only come with one key and I'd like at least one more. I've got diagbox/lexia, had it for a few years now and I've programmed several new keys successfully to the other Citroen vans I've had but this new van is a 2017 reg and I've heard that its not that simple anymore. I can get the remoke key and blade from ebay no problem, its just the programming I'm now unsure of.

If you have Diagbox Version 7 then you probably won't be able to do it, given your van is a 2017 it will likely need V9.** at least top programme the keys.

Yes the best I can upgrade to is 7.65, it did a 2015 no problem but this is a new shape one.

As for the VIN I will get it tomorrow if I can remember.

DB V7.** certainly doesn't cover vehicles from 2017 on Peter, so unlikely it will have the new engine ECU software in its database to do this.

The key programming procedure hasn't really changed at all since the very first Citroen cars with coded keys, The only real difference on earlier cars you would go directly into the immobiliser or CPH menu to do it, now you go in via BSI. Apart from that its the same. Enter the 4 digit security code then input the total amount of keys you are programming & cycle each key with the ignition on when requested. After you have checked the vehicle starts if you have remotes, switch ignition on with each remote & press the lock button 4 or 5 times & repeat for each remote, this should sync the remotes.

I have tried today and its giving code which needs send to tech support to get login to next level

That's not exactly what you asking but it's will give you idea, to access key programming console you need MRI code generated from Citroen or buy online which will be generated after payment, in my case I have original cable, and account but dealing with Citroen technical support it's not easy, I bought the code online and it's worked

Ah, i understand now, I did not realise you were using the legit version of Diagbox with tokens.
SERMI regulations have just recently started (but still not fully completed) requiring anyone working on vehicle security systems to be verified or have certain verification, its still ongoing at the moment & dont think it has been fully implemented yet.
This is actually the first example i have seen of it being used.
As far as the actual key programming process goes its just as i said above.

Honestly it's not worth to use China clone's and cracked diagbox anymore, used device on eBay (original) around 150£ -200£, legit account free, token for 7 days for one car around 30£, RMI code for free just needs patience to go through Citroen bull sxxxxt, if not it's around 8£ online

And same device can work with cracked software as well let's say if you need do car's up 18 plate
