Front xantia spheres

Good morning, bought New sphere's and fitted them no issues,my problem is the old one's had the inserts but the New one's didn't but only realised once fitted, it's cured the problem of hard suspension but now very bouncy,can the inserts be transferred,I can get them to turn but don't seem to want to come out, thanks. The picture is of the old one's.

Oh gosh! That's exceedingly dangerous... Those inserts are the dampers (shock-absorber analogues) so the ride will be very bouncy and boat-like...

What you were supplied with are accumulator spheres and definitely not to be used as corner spheres...

Get the correct ones on ASAP and I recommend you don't drive the car again until you have... If you must, put the old ones back on...

EDIT: You cannot move the damper inserts between spheres, they're pressed in and then a lip is formed on the end of the threaded part...

Thought they were wrong, very bouncy, Will put old one's back on tomorrow. Maybe that's why there's a couple of other issues I'm experiencing.

Hello again, put the old Sphere's back on,my question this time is,as the old one's need replacing as the front suspension is hard, would this cause erratic steering,ie it suddenly pulls to the right for a short moment especially if you add power, nothing was noted on the steering geometry when the tracking was done(one of those fancy computer Lazer set ups)couple of days before, wheel bearings had no play,so was just wondering if because spheres have gone the whole system is out of kilter.

If the front is very hard with little or no movement Eb, then yes, very possibly.

A Xantia with a good set of spheres is not noted for torque-steer but one thing to check is for worn 'P' bushes (Front wishbone rear bushes) for excess wear. These can often elude an unknowning MoT tester and cause a bit of torque-steer along with a vague feeling of 'threepenny bit' steering...

"Hard" suspension could very easily destroy P-Bushes....esp old ones already on the way out...

And rock-hard front spheres can also damage the strut tops too...
