No, sorry, I don't have this engine, so can't advise on which is which - because they can vary based on engine, model, type and variant equipment fitted like gearbox, and other options, so the connections and power requirements will vary.

The garage did mention a whole new(for the car) rear end. And someone else suggested it to me. Had a look and yhe rear end itself isn't expensive but I am assuming that is a BIg job to swap out? Or would it be easier and this quicker.

I have always used NGK plugs in ES9 engines with no problems, which reminds me that I should check the condition of the plugs in the XM.

As both issues could be down to the fact that the engine was not running for long during the tests - my error rushing - I should have told them to wait until I come back from holiday!

It needs a proper diagnostic with Diagbox to be honest. These can have multiple issues and guessing is going to be expensive and won't necessarily fix the issue.

The diagnostic codes, along with any dashboard / gear selector info displayed will help along with your VIN. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked...

Just a little update on this issue.
I've had the van with some guys that do car tunning/mapping and they have not been able to remove the DTC. Apparently this code is not one that should even be logged in the ECU.

Not really, the steering wheels are specifically designed for each vehicle and its equipment and electrical system. Plus they contain specific airbag modules that are designed for each type fitted into the unit, ESP angle sensor and then the steering wheel controls that probably won't be compatible.

The engine ECU can usually catch misfires due to the ignition coil. So a misfire on unspecified cylinders is usually from an injector.

Funnily enough, when I went to remove the inlet when changing the wetbelt the other week, there was an injector bolt that was loose, so think someone has been playing with them...

Hi I'm new to this site I have a 2009 diesel Citroen C5 6 speed automatic the other day on a hill it kept telling me to return to park, I was wondering if the gearbox oil is low? I figured out there is no dipstick to check this, how do I know what version of the gearbox I have please?

Try the test with an A4 sheet of paper above the oil port, with oil filling cap removed from the engine. If the paper is sprinkled all over with oil within seconds, then you have a bad chain tensioner. I've found this test on Youtube and i found it verry concludent.

I would stay with rubber bushes from a known manufacturer, such as Febi, Lemforder, Sasic etc.

It is vital to fit the new bushes with correct alignment so that they are not stressed at normal ride height.

You could try swapping two injectors and see if the fault follows it.

As far as European warranties go I believe they are slightly different from the UK. Here we have 3 years in total, 2 years from Citroen and the third year from the dealership.
