I've got a 2002 206 Quicksilver with a smashed front fog lamp. I tried to take it off at the weekend and failed!
I found the bolt that secures the lamp to the bumper, but could not work out how to remove to top two struts that it then pivots on when the bolt is removed.

You do not mention the year but in general the 106 immobiliser does not shut the starter down. This sounds like an igntion swith problen or the switched feed to the pre engage solenoid. Meter this connection whilst some one turns the key. You will find you can bump start the car OK. Regards Peter

i dont know wich car this is for but on most cars the door switch wire goes to earth when the door is open.also most alarms i've fitted have the option to have either -ve switched or +ve switched door switch & you only connect one of the wires.

you will need to key in the pin number, if you dont have it the original suppling Peugeot dealer can get it for you.

Firstly why do you need longer bolts? Have you purchaced ally wheels to replace steel ones. If so you will need to go back to the wheel supplier and ask the. You can not use bolts designed for steel wheels on ally wheels and visa versa as the taper is angled different and could end up splitting you wheel !!!!

Hello i cant get any dip beam on my 306DT, had this problem before but sorted it by changing the resistor in the n/s wing but its doing it again, only last a couple of months? Does anyone no why it's blown it again or am i going to have to keep a spare all the time?

Yes this is the anti theft thing cutting in, You need the help of either a Peugeot dealer or a car radio decoding place with the right software.
The radios are coded to the VIN number of the car at the factory.

If you follow the main earth wire from the battery, You should find the 2 connections at the other end.
One is to the body shell & the other is on top of the GEARBOX.
Its most likely a battery & battery tray out job to get at both of them, It is on the 405 & that has a larger engine bay.

Not for high presure fuel systems, e.g. HDI. But smaller amounts of petrol in older type engines like XUD wont do any harm. Petrol was used to prevent diesel waxing in cold weather before additives prevented it. You may even find it gives your engine a bit of a clean out.

You would be correct in thinking that.
It's possible to knock the old one out with a socket and a HUGE hammer and it's quite easy to make a press with screwed rod (something like M12), large washers and the old bearing casing. The effort reqired to draw the bearing in that way isn't too bad. The old inner track nearly always gets stuck on the hub...

OK the whine is getting worse, and happens at low revs.

Hi I have a Peugeot 306 1.8 XS 1999 (V), the car is running rough at the moment and the engine is quite noisy. It's done 60k. Also when crawling through traffic acceleration and releasing the accelerator pedal results in a jerk motion. Also when pulling away and through 2nd gear also gives a slight jerk and lack of power.
Any ideas?

Drove the car on the dual carriage away and took it up to 80mph and the heaters decided to work but when I slowed down and started to drive at around 30mph heaters stopped working!

Does it cycle open & closed if you use the front door buttons to activate the central locking?
Does it do it if you unlock with the key in the door lock?
Does this 405 have a drivers airbag? There was a modification to the central locking on these later cars.

Does it not have a sticker on the A pillar if you open the front doors as wide as possible? Thats where my zx ones were. My supra has a sticker inside the glove box so check there as well

Sometimes they drop in easy, Other times the mount has to come off & the rubber pressed it.
If you do end up taking the mount off, The driveshaft has to be remove FIRST before undoing any of the mounts bolts.
They can be a right pain to do if its your first attempt at one.

Ok, so we've narrowed it down to a Peugeot........

If it does it regularly enough, I'd take him out again as a passenger so you can demonstrate. Either that or get a second opinion and see how he reacts to it. Wouldn't expect spark plugs to cause those symptoms.

Theres loads of alarms out there that control the central locking with there own plips.
Or you can get a Peugeot upgrade kit ( Dont laugh! ) That will even work form you original remote key, Theres a couple of other companys that make these also.
If the car you end up with comes with a infra red plip, Get an alarm fitted that works with its own...

do you mean how do i know if my model of car has it or do you mean how do i identify which of the wires are multiplex ones ?

ZX 16 valve left the factory with 155BHP ( Unless its one of the special P reg 6 that got the 167BHP lump ) & the 306 GTI 6 left the factroy with 167 BHP & an extra gear to play with.

Hi i have just purchased a beast 306 gti 6 and at just under the redline (6900rpm) it makes a vibrating/rattling noise (quite loud every gear at same rev)

Unclip it, and have a peer in through your rear window from outside and see if you can see anything!

Remove the speaker and headunit and check the wiring for continuity with a multimeter. Check all connections (wiring to speaker and headunit to wiring). Make sure the balance settting on the stereo isnt set to left or right!!

Just have a look for any green & yellow wires, These are the earths on a Paugeot.

Might be the fuse for the oxygen sensors heating element.
If the fuse was missing the sensor would take longer to heat up & the engine would burn slightly more petrol until it reaches the correct temperature.

First things first, Is the climate control switched on? The fans will run if it is.
Check the brown temp sensor connector plug next to the thermostat.
Also check for any blown fuses in the fusebox inside the car.
If the connection is dirty or the sensor is faulty or the fuse blows the fans will run all the time as a safety precaution.

Almost certainly, the rubber injector leak off pipes have been damaged during the repair. They harden with age, and end up so brittle that damage is inevitable. This also causes poor starting because the primary fuel system drains back to the tank when the engine stops, vented by the leak.
Get the correct pipe from GSF.
