What voltages?

Bit of a techy question here. The TDC sensor has 2 wires running to it, I need to find out how much voltage should be running through these wires, I know one will be a pulse signal from brushing with the flywheel, is the other a +12v when ignition on?
Both wires on mine are registering 0v with engine on or off.

the TDC sensor is an inductive type sensor so it produces its own voltage only with the engine running,it will produce an AC voltage of around 5v,the best way to check it is with an ociliscope though.
