205 Diesel leak

We have a diesel leak. It APPEARS from under the Lucas pump.
Under this pump there is a nut which APPEARS to resemble a drain plug. If it is I presume it will have a sealing washer.
Can anyone confirm please. It is in the haynes manual but not identified.

normally when fuel leaks from a lucas pump it comes from the main seal behind the cambelt and them runs down underneath the body of the pump.

Thanks, does that mean taking the pump off completely or is it accessible?
You could be correct, that nut I refer to is the lowest point.
I'll have a nosey tonight.

the seal can be done with the pump in place,abit tricky to do.the cambelt will need to be taken off.if i was doing it i would take the pump off,then you know the seal has been fitted correctly.

I went to a diesel garage, and he looked and said it is the throttle shaft seals which are fairly common. It's booked in I'm expecting £70 (+vat no doubt). A couple of days ago I could see NO diesel from the top.
I hope he is correct, and pushed the shaft sideways with engine running (after drying the area). There appeared to be a tiny weep from the shaft.
My main fear is this not being corrct and spending on a car worth
£3-400!

£70 sounds about right.they have to take the top off the pump.very tricky to do.its only a tiny O ring,best left to the experts,at least the work they do will be garunteed.

Collected today. £45 +VAT, just seals but no actual throttle shaft needed. Seems OK (please).
The nut I originally asked about contains the rotor, and the mechanic seemed to panic when he asked if I had removed/ unscrewed.
