Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi ,new to the forum!
My Y plate 150,000 mile 2.0 HDI has overnight gone into some sort of limp mode!
It was running fine late the other night but when started next morning it wouldn't go above 40mph!

Unusual that it would go into limp without putting the EML on. If you can't see anything obviously wrong, then you need to get it on a Lexia diag computer and see if there are any stored codes, and then have a look at live data for engine speed, rail pressure, manifold pressure etc, to see if you figure out what has gone astray. Can anyone tell me what the LED next to the colour LCD information panel is for? I have found it in the parts list but it's just described as an LED. Is it actually an LED or is it a light sensor as I've not seen it light up yet? :eh:

My 1999 Xantia LX HDI has climate control which either works perfectly (icy cold after being re-gassed this year) or not at all with no heater blower and the a/c light not illuminated. Sometimes when it is playing up the a/c light goes on for a few seconds when turning on the ignition leading me to suspect a faulty relay.

Issues behind the Fuse box is NOT uncommon!

Ive had a main feed from the engine bay break up to the fuse box.. That resulted in RHW! Try tracing that from scratch!

Other has been a jumper wire which had corroded away from a previous fix.. Other people have had to do stuff too.

Hi C5 ers..

Ive a new customer with a 51 plate C5 HDi 110 ... The MILES on the speedo count up, However the needle doesnt work.

I checked the Needle stepper motor on the Lexia, and it worked correctly. Is the miles and needle driven seperatly?? Or are we needing a replacment speedo head?

Hi all, meant to post this a while ago! When driving along normally I feel a slight dip in power as if the engine is braking, this only happens when you hear the FDV hiss, I presume this could be a load on the pump? Any suggestions as to whether this is normal, it's been doing it as far back as I can remember.

In 100k miles up to current 150k nearly, other than service items my Xantia HDi has only consumed 2 alternators, a crank pulley, a brake pipe, a suspension pipe, and a repaired rear suspension cylinder. Any replacement will have to go a long way to beat that, but decent Xantias are very thin on the ground now...currently 14 on Autotrader, compared...

As seen here:

I'm putting an XU10J4R from an early '99 Xantia in a Berlingo. I intend to splice the looms and use the key chip as designed - not a chav unlock. Will be using the Berlingo clocks, too.

Have stripped the donor looms out and have been snipping away totally redundant stuff like blinkers, power windows, Hydractive, radio harness...

The SD card in my C5 says 2009/10 . I have no desire to update every year, but occasional updates would be useful as there are a few new roads here and there.

Does anyone happen to know the release cycle - it would be frustrating to buy one in August if the new versions are released in (say) September. I guess I should be after a 2012/13.

I DITTO ALL these posts, Id find that a 1.7 TD BX would start straight off on a HOT engine without plugs, AND also so does the XM 2.1 12v engines WHEN HOT start straight off...

However, ALL the 1.9 TD XUD engines Ive had ALWAYS need heater plugs to start hot or cold! ALL of them!

Has anyone had one out, to see how far around the back the plastic trim wraps?

I'm workshopping the idea of removal/refit to the nearside one during the major repair process. It looks like the angled knife could slice it out fairly well from the back but want to be sure.

It does make an amazing difference, yes! Our mobile fitter normally uses a pull knife for everything but works from the outside. He's getting a bit rough these days, though.

Was driving home last nite from work. Did my normal thing started the car waited couple of seconds. Started driving off. Then the warning lights starting comming on and off. Half way i didnt see them come on.

What's the simple way to unblock the drain - fir leaves have blocked up?

Passenger side - got a flooded footwell last night. In torrential downpour; stripped that out to dry but mustn't happen again!

Im going to France in 2 weeks and plan to De-FAP my dads C5, he is getting blocked diesel filter and anti pollution messages.
Now the question is, I know I need a Galletto cable but will also need ECU safe, I have been having a look around but cannot find a cheap copy, does anyone know where I can get it please?

Hope I'm not tempting fate but..........Well the car is done.
Arrived over here last monday and read the codes, turbo overboost as before and 398 mb pressure difference across the FAP, stripped out the swirl vacuum unit and it was fine BUT replaced it anyway, rubber pipes both ends were perished and split so replaced both of them.

bled through the holes in turn, get hot air through the vents, all pipes are hot, when i remove the rad cap though water comes out, if i rev it the coolant level goes down, its did this a few times, the temp guage goes to the max - fans kick in and it goes back to its 1/2 mark, is the coolant over flowing the last of the air being removed? should...

mk1 berlingo 1.4 petrol

part no 1351 CT

replaced my rad and i made an ar$e or removing this hose on my old 1, its now has a small leak coming from the join, my local scrapie only has berlingos that have different hoses :roll: , so im hoping there were fitted to other model of cars.

its 1 of those quick release jobbies, was thinking about...

At a 148% that filter is well past And will need changing. Your oil problem will most likley be conected to the filter problem

Regeneration is either passive or active
Passive regeneration

Passive regeneration takes place automatically on motorway-type runs when the exhaust temperature is high. Because many cars don't get this sort of use car...

Hi when getting MOT other day guy there was quite knowledgeable re Citroens etc was one of the other mechs had been into them who had worked there.He told me when said id had leak from the green life blood of citroens i said i joined pipe together with a joiner. He said don't use copper as it reacts with the fluid!!!? where's citrojim he'd know.

Hi,

I have a curious thing causing vibration when my engine is idling. (car details in title)
I suspect the air con compressor but dont know much about them .
when idling air con off the engine growls intermitantly every few seconds like it is being held back.
when I turn on the air con the air-con seems to work ok , The growling is much worse at...

His rear i thnk near side rear arm is cracking in operation so he had it up onca ramp and discivered metal fileings falling from it.. he went to my local garage. Anyway they reccomended he came to me to have any work done so i sugested a complete arm swap for another due to possible unit damage...

Yes it can be done BUT you need a cable that connects to the RT3 and that has to be configured by Lexia, now the difficult bit, from what I understand, that would mean that you couldn't continue using the multichanger. Have a read of this

I have a Dispatch 01 plate. And want to put a three seater in the back, does anyone know where to buy them and are they easy to fit in? (my vehicle is a wheel chair one) so it doesn't have the holes to put them in.. Is it easy to do yourself?

I was changing the rear near side wheel yesterday and noticed the rear brake calliper bolt(lower) has sheared so i have the dreaded task of replacing it over the weekend, having read a few of the other posts it looks like a pain in the butt, ha ho it has to be done and I will tackle it this weekend.

Evening all!

I bought a Lexia clone from ebay ( to try and sort my XM out

Following the instructions it said use XP, so I duly made a vmware install with XP, and installed diagbox 7.2. Wouldn't activate using the provided patch. Tried several different re-installs and patches, and nothing (Laptop wifi turned off throughout all this.)

Hi, the maxi for my pump keeps going and the pumps getting lethargic. its a 2004 facelift. im going to source a second hand one, give it a good going over then fit that. are there any years i should avoid ? any bad batches or anything like that ? most i find seem to be older and higher millage than mine but working !!!

Hi.. Can anyone help.. My tickover is at 1400 rpm, I have changed Maf and Electrovalve, checked pipes for leaks and now I dont know what else to do.. There is no loss of power, but fuel consumption appears to have gone up.. Any help would be greatly appreciated

After servicing I've been told that one of the front brake discs is heavily rusty on the inner side, and one front coil spring is broken. I'm told that I must replaced both left and right front brake discs, not just the one that is problematic, and same with coil springs: I must replace both sides.

so like the topic said, my 9780.Z5 doesn't see my car. It's French made it used to work fine. Now my computer sees it so does Lexia 3, but when I try to scan for a car it says that no car was found. I tried on C5 and C4 same thing. Any suggestions? Need any advice.

Is the inlet manifold gasket a reusable rubber type on the C5 V6? Looking at the exploded view it seems that it might be. I'd like to know whether I will need a replacement before I remove it.

As the title says is it an easy job or not? I've bought an auto dim for the bargain price of £5 on eBay. I'm driving an SX at the moment so it has both rain and wiper sensors under the old mirror. Do i need to run additional wiring to the blue 3 pin plug on the auto dim mirror or can i utilise the wiring already there on the sensors? Anybody else...

Thanks for assistance - problem seems to be solved. In the end I gave up on the version on my disc and downloaded a slightly newer version from the net. That has now installed, all I have to do now is activate and see what happens when I plug it in to the car.

hello all, my HDI 110 Xantia has put its engine light on again, both times have been at about 75mph with my foot well down asking for more power, it goes into reduced power limp mode and then the fault goes away after a couple of restarts, I am thinking of swapping the electrovalves over for a start, anyone had similar ?

Hi all.
I have an 03 reg c3. 1.4hdi, 16 valve exclusive with aircon.

Anyway, after buying it I discovered the aircon didn't work and a charge didn't fix it. It transpires the cooling fan is not working.
Furthermore today I found out that someone has put tape covering the tempreture lights that should illuminate when the car overheats. :evil:...
