Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Took my 1995 106 Roland Garros for an MOT yesterday and it failed on rear service brake balance (Left 42 Kgf, Right 112 Kgf Imbalance 63%). Hello all,

I have a 54 (2004) Peugeot 307 which the headlight cluster is loose due to the top mounting bracket being snapped and also the bracket behind the front grill, so looking at replacing the whole unit.
From what I've managed to research myself its a pain to get at to remove. I'm seeing things like needing 10mm socket, T20/30 torx, flat...

Thank you for the replies, I finally got in touch with a family friend come mechanic, and he's pretty much confirmed what I thought anyway, Might not have to remove the bumper completely but loosen it enough to get access to the two lower bolts of the unit.

have in prospect a head gasket, clutch and cambelt on a 1.6 HDI Pug 307 I have done lots of work on BX, Xantias etc and used to remove the engine and box whole to make things easier, having attempted other jobs on stuff equipped with this engine I really fancy dropping the whole lump on the floor, anyone done this ?

Thank you for that Richard, I did a clutch on an older 307 (2.0 HDI 90) which also needed the subframe dropping, it was initially offputting as my previous experience I always struggled around them ZX TD was the worst! the subframe proved easy to remove and the access was then superb !
I managed to remove injectors from a 1.6 HDI a few weeks...

I'm beginning to dislike this car very much...

It died when my wife was driving down the motorway yesterday. Apparently just lost power and she coasted to a stop on the shoulder. AA guy read the faults and was surprised about the 6 that were logged, but they are all ones I know about (EGR, turbo repeat, post heat relay, coolant bypass solenoid)....

can you see some problem while the second gear swings down then up for about 100-200rpm while accelerating?

When it was all buttoned up back together I have an extra connector that I cant find a mate for now. I cant remember whether this was there before or not? I have the connectors for the camshaft and crank sensors all OK, along with the turbo solenoid. There's a big one back there that is a different style to the others too. The extra one is a brown...

Hi everyone. Ive recently got a 1.5 diesel as an every day run about. I am confused and stumped as to its fuel consumption. I only get around 30-35mpg from it. Its only done 49000 miles, has just had a full service including cambelt etc and starts and runs perfect. No smoke, starts first time every time and pulls very well. I personally drive very...

The fuel consumption will always be considerably worse on a cold engine and it doesn't seem you are doing enough miles to get it hot. As suggested a good long run will probably improve it considerably.

Correct,306`s do NOT have a pollen filter.
If you have lots of crap getting into the cabin remove the plastic grill around the wipers and give the bay a good clean out. Also make sure the rubber cover over the blower motor is in place.

Our 406 HDi RHZ has its gearbox out at the moment chasing gear select problems (see other thread).

How do I test the DMF to see if it is worn out? It does not make any noises, the clutch is OK but I am replacing it while I have the gearbox out. Should I replace the DMF as well?
It has done 220k km of mostly open road driving.

She's a squirter!

I moved this to Peugeot as it wasn't a specific diagnostics question.

I can't see a separate temperature sensor in the intake, so it's either with the pressure sensor or part of the throttle housing. Is this a Diagbox fault code, or an OBD reader? Can you read the live data to see if there is any signal from the IAT sensor?

The car is all back together after repairs, with a replacement turbo repeat sensor. The stuttering at partial throttle seems to be gone, along with the surging at full throttle as the revs rise. However, the peak pressure now is around 16psi. I'm sure pressures of nearer 20 were recorded before, although not constant. I guess that could have been...

Could someone clarify me that my 306 fuel cap at the bottom there is hole for when accidental overflow it drain down but my was just hole no rubber nipple or a tube I can see top of my tyre from that hole.

Anybody done this ? I'm coming to agree with the advice I was offered, that repairs involving injectors out are too risky !

There doesn't look to be enough room between the screen and radiator to lift the engine out, but it won't go downwards without degassing the working aircon.

Dropping it downwards with gearbox attached looks most likely ?...

I do not see any tailgate switch with a mercury liquid inside from eBay or elsewhere? my local Peugeot dealer in Braintree is charger £12.99 with VAT for a tiny switch. Do anyone know this parts number and the name of this switch? I am try to get the cheapest online.

Richard, I don't have all the injectors out yet no, just the one from #2 cylinder. The manicover can be removed with just the electrical & leakoff disconnected. (this is an 8v/single cam engine, I imagine the 16v injectors are through the middle of the cover). I do *think* they'll give up OK though as the car has been a gooden in all other aspects...

Where to locate the flywheel sensor and crankshaft sensor on the Peugeot 605. I can not find these.

The only valid VIN is the one ending in 832 - the last one is not valid. So this one is the

Jut wondering if anyone has changed or cleaned an RHR EGR valve ? Its a sod to get to, right over the back, and one of the biggest issues is that its hidden behind the air intake pipe. The gearbox on my boxer motorhome is leaking from the end cap, it has been bodged with some unidentified hard gunk but I'd quite like to get a new end cap. Hi, I recently bought a '97 boxer based 1.9td motorhome with about 80k on the clock and had it in the garage for an oil filler neck replacement and new alternator. Turns out the sump was leaking around the seal with the block so the mechanic removed it and found the main bearing cap closest to the gearbox had a crack in it....

THE radiator on my 308 is very hot at the plastic top yet cold below this, the expansion tank is getting a feed from the top of the radiator, the water temp gauge reads 90c .The heater is hot.
Is this normal for this model as I have only just bought the car as i would expect the bottom of the radiator to be at least warm after long runs

I have just done the timing belt on a 207 1.6 HDi 2007. I used the pins to lock the crank, cam and pump. I turned the engine 12 times afterwards and rechecked the pins all went in. Oh and the tensioner pointer was still dead center.

I need to top up the power steering fluid in the 407 and the recommendation is Total Fluide DA which seems elusive. It is an orange coloured oil and seems to be exactly the same as LDS, even sharing the same PSA specification. Are they in fact the same?
