Peugeot Boxer 3 Euro 5 2.2 HDI 110 2016
This is a follow on to a recent thread I posted about problems with the 5th injector.
Quick summary Fuel atomiser fault code P0423 92
Injector was replaced, fault code persisted, injector has now been "coded" and this fault has cleared.
At the same time the damaged ground wire was replaced all the way back to the under bonnet earth point.
New fault code P0488 78 has now appeared, however EGR was replaced and I presume coded by main dealer less than 1000 miles ago.
However further analysis of the main issue which is diabolical fuel consumption has revealed that the fuel pump for the fifth injector is switching on after about half a mile (hot or cold) and then running almost continuously, the fifth injector is switching on and off frequently, so most of the time just pumping raw fuel through the exhaust.
I know that the injector is getting power (I've plugged in a test lamp in place)
I've done a couple of forced regens, and they've come back with no fault found
The dpf is showing 0% soot content
So something is continuously telling the ECU to trigger a regen even when cold, and that's what I'd dearly love someone to point me in the direction of..... Are there one or more sensors? Could it be the dpf is goosed, vans only done 67000,

Re: Boxer running problems
Thanks Marc, I'd only picked up on that other thread after posting this.
As I said we have now cleared the Atomiser code, and gained another for the egr!
The recall as mentioned is for the sliding door switch, after you brought this up previously I spoke to a main dealer who said that this dates back to when the van was new in 2016.
The other post where the replacement of a sensor stopped the premature regen could (I hope) be the breakthrough that I need, I'll get underneath tomorrow and see if I can work out what's what and where, looks like they're a couple of hundred a pop so probably won't go for all at once.
