Got a BOLs coming over for the 407, tried to combine shipping and get one for my C4 2.0i 16v petrol, doesn't exist. I was advised to buy two. One for the car and a C5 one for the engine. That will be the Revue Technique route. Obviously not a common model in the UK.

I've read all the posts relating to the oil, JW3309, just wondered if anyone has heard of this brand. The previous owner followed Monsieur Pug's advice and did diddly, so at 165K miles I think it's a bit overdue!

I thought 10 litres, 2 changes straight away and then another in a month?
The price seems really cheap, possibly too cheap?
Any advice...

The late 1.9TDs with Bosch mechanical pumps had an ECU to control the timing, so a Lexia can give useful diagnostics, especially with a fault that appears to be related to timing.

The timing belt jumping a tooth (or perhaps more now) is a good suggestion.

I have a 306 1994 and I stopped for 1-2 minutes. Suddenly the couldn't start. I hear the click click when I turn the key at ignition position, I hear the fuel pump but nothing else... Only the battery light and the clock turn off at ignition position as always but the ignition motor can't move... Also I can't find the relay for starter...

Have you tested to see if the starter solenoid is getting power when the key is turned to 'start' position? Use a 12v test light and a friend if possible. If it is it should also click, like a relay. If it doesn't get power then there is a poor connection on either the +ve or earth. Does the large red lead that goes to the solenoid have power? If...

407 front bumper removal

Just in the process of changing my headlights. Removing the front bumper had gone swimmingly until......trying to release the sides where they clip in. Checked on several other forums and youtube videos and they say 'unclip or unlatch' or 'it's a swine'. The only advice I can find is to stuff a screwdriver in there to release the clips then pull....

Thanks for the reply Marc, just about to open a celebratory beer. Really didn't want to prise the bumper off so I stuck a 10mm long reach socket on a 3/8 extension up inside the wing and unscrewed the bumper retaining bracket sufficiently to be able to ease it away from the wing, thus releasing the bumper. New lights are now in. CT next week....

During the summer months my daily driver is a K reg 205D Zest.
Recently I had to fit a replacement drivers side door, and I was lucky enough to obtain one from a breaker that was in good nick, and even the same colour as the original.
Of course it now says 'Zest' on one side and '205' on the other but...

Thank you for the replies, I finally got in touch with a family friend come mechanic, and he's pretty much confirmed what I thought anyway, Might not have to remove the bumper completely but loosen it enough to get access to the two lower bolts of the unit.

have in prospect a head gasket, clutch and cambelt on a 1.6 HDI Pug 307 I have done lots of work on BX, Xantias etc and used to remove the engine and box whole to make things easier, having attempted other jobs on stuff equipped with this engine I really fancy dropping the whole lump on the floor, anyone done this ?

Thank you for that Richard, I did a clutch on an older 307 (2.0 HDI 90) which also needed the subframe dropping, it was initially offputting as my previous experience I always struggled around them ZX TD was the worst! the subframe proved easy to remove and the access was then superb !
I managed to remove injectors from a 1.6 HDI a few weeks...

I'm beginning to dislike this car very much...

It died when my wife was driving down the motorway yesterday. Apparently just lost power and she coasted to a stop on the shoulder. Correct,306`s do NOT have a pollen filter.
If you have lots of crap getting into the cabin remove the plastic grill around the wipers and give the bay a good clean out. Also make sure the rubber cover over the blower motor is in place.

Our 406 HDi RHZ has its gearbox out at the moment chasing gear select problems (see other thread).

How do I test the DMF to see if it is worn out? It does not make any noises, the clutch is OK but I am replacing it while I have the gearbox out. Should I replace the DMF as well?
It has done 220k km of mostly open road driving.

I moved this to Peugeot as it wasn't a specific diagnostics question.

I can't see a separate temperature sensor in the intake, so it's either with the pressure sensor or part of the throttle housing. Is this a Diagbox fault code, or an OBD reader? Can you read the live data to see if there is any signal from the IAT sensor?

The car is all back together after repairs, with a replacement turbo repeat sensor. The stuttering at partial throttle seems to be gone, along with the surging at full throttle as the revs rise. However, the peak pressure now is around 16psi. I'm sure pressures of nearer 20 were recorded before, although not constant. I guess that could have been...

hi iv just bought a peugeot 307 sw 1.6 hdi.today my trip computer readings started to become eratic displaying all sorts of readings.any ideas?also my clutch is about an inch above the brake pedal is this normal?thanks in advance

Hi guys. I was just rummaging through my hood when I saw this (attached picture). Is this the steering rack boot? There's a bit of a muddy grease on it, i think its a good thing as this means the rack isnt dried up yet (though it is quite dirty), am I right? And also, if I am to leave it be for a while, will there be a bigger problem? Havent...

Friend of mine has a 2018 Expert van...

He is most (understandably) frustrated that the 12V power socket will not stay live when the van goes into power-saving mode...

Is there any way to make this socket live all the time and not go dead when power saving mode is in force?

Hi i have a peugeot 206, 04 reg
The front wipers work fine on the first and second settings the intermediate and the slow speed, but when i put them on the third setting the fast speed they dont work, they just compleatly stop anywhere on the windscreen,

Anybody done this ? I'm coming to agree with the advice I was offered, that repairs involving injectors out are too risky !

There doesn't look to be enough room between the screen and radiator to lift the engine out, but it won't go downwards without degassing the working aircon.

Dropping it downwards with gearbox attached looks most likely ?...

The only valid VIN is the one ending in 832 - the last one is not valid. So this one is the
