Hot start partner

Unread post by Pipe »

Hi all
I have a partner 850 hdi 90 on an 2011 plate it's done 190000 mile always serviced on time blah blah .
It starts 1st time when cold and it runs perfectly, when it gets fully warmed up the engine shaped light comes on and it goes into limp home mode then if I stop the engine it takes forever to get it started again. Has anybody got any ideas as to what could be causing this problem?
Thanks people

Hi, and welcome.
Faulty engine (coolant) temperature sensor, maybe, telling the ECU that the engine has overheated. Likely not the same sensor that feeds the dash temp gauge, as these tend to be separate.
Someone who knows hdi well will be able to add some suggestions.

I suspect this is an emissions related problem with the MIL lit and the engine in back up mode.

You really need to get it on a Lexia and report the fault codes back for any further advice.

If this uses the 8 valve 2.0. engine I suspect the pressure regulator on the back of the HP pump is faulty, common fault, filter gets blocked.
