Is it possible for an expert to identify if there is something wrong with my BSM? I have some weird issues with my car where it suddenly can't lock it with the remote or key once I parked it if I drive from home to the gym for instance. So it wont lock, and it wont start again, once I turn the key it's absolutely dead, no sign of life whatsoever....

I am considering (i have actually left a small refundable deposit) a 2011 508sw 1.6 auto. However, I also have seen a 2015 308sw 1.6 auto, for the same price.

I cant seem to find a low down on the differences between the cars. Are they essentially the same but in a different skin? Are they both manual boxes...

I have a little oil in my air-intake system, and when accelrating, it sounds like fake air from the engine. If idling and reving up the engine, there is no sound.

I'm suspecting it's maybe a bearing in my turbo? Since it's only under load the sound is there. (And that should also could cause oil in the air-intake system?)

What else should I look...

Morning all,

Over the weekend I fitted a 2nd hand engine into a Peugeot Partner which had a failed engine. The engine code is DV6DTED 9HF.

The engine runs smooth and there are no fault codes stored however if I rev it from idle there is a lot of black smoke from the exhaust.
It doesn’t seem to do this when driving the vehicle just if it’s parked...

In December my car out of the blue began kicking and was undriveable. Had it towed to a garage they said the thermostat was leaking and it had gotten into the ECU but it may dry off and be ok. Said they'd put a new coil pack in and it was driving fine at the moment. Took the car home, it wasn't fine at all and the kicking began pretty quickly....

I started my 206 fine but as I pulled out it cut out. Now when I turn the key the ignition comes on but it will not even turn over. I have tried a jump start, I have connected a diagnostic reader to the OBD but it cannot connect to the ECU. Ignition displaying eco mode. Any ideas please?

The ambient ouside temperature readout on my 2010 Peugeot 207SW is about 11 degrees Centigrade too low. I know that you can adjust this on some cars .. but does anyone know how to do it on this model? Very grateful for advice. Thanks Jim

Am I best going for a thermostat on its own, or one with housing? Any recommendations on which brand to go for?

While error code reading the 308 for a problem with engine I had the following code returned as well.

B1003 54 Secure configuration fault. This is the COMBINE_UDS ECU and under properties it says:
Cause - Local
Status - Present
Characteristics of the fault - Absence of calibration

It seems to be something to do with the dashboard.

Well didn't expect to be back quite so soon! Took 307 to Halfords for an MOT with it's nice new fuse box installed and it failed. Checked discs & pads, ground off lip from discs and measured the thickness, rear 7.4mm (min 7mm) and front 23mm (min 24mm). I intend to replace pads & discs but no time to get, at a reasonable price, and fit before MOT....

my airbag light came on after i removed the airbag of the steering wheel and lubricated the inside of the steering wheel with WD40..
Do i need to make some process to reset the airbag light or did i damage the circular connector of the airbag with the WD40?

BVA and BVM sound to me like automatic gears and manual gears , but MAD ? (for example descriptions like Since MAD 1036789 )

Looking to use an oil cooler, i see some factory 205 d turbos have an upright oil cooler for improved clearance.

I have just got a 207 running with a new injector but PP2000 wants an 8 digit code and the injector has 10 digits on the sticker. The original injectors have 9 and the last digit is simply dropped when programming but I don't want to guess how which 8 digits to use and cause an issue.
