Partner II seat rails, adblue, and fog lights...

Unread post by Hopeaharmaa99 »

Hi, I've just bought a Peugeot Partner 2017 1.6 bluehdi 100 van, and have a couple of newbie questions. I posted on another forum but as that hasn't generated any response I thought I'd try here, hopefully that is okay.

Firstly, whilst looking for a van to buy I've driven a lot of these vans in various guises (Peugeot, Citroën and Opel) and in all cases the seat has gone plenty far enough back for me, basically right back to the bulkhead.

However, in the case of my actual own van, the seat doesn't go far enough back, it stops hard against some kind of backstop, on the seat rails I think, a good few inches before it gets to the bulkhead.

I looked to see if my seat had been moved, or mounted especially far forward, but everything appears original.

My question is therefore what would be the easiest way to get the seat to go further back, as it has several inches before it would actually touch the bulkhead and this would give me plenty of room to get comfortable.

My second question is about adblue, unlike the heavy vehicles I drive for work, this doesn't appear to have an adblue gauge. Can I just top it up occasionally and the system will know that it has been filled up? Unfortunately my manual is in Swedish and I only understand Finnish and English.

Thirdly my van doesn't have the front foglights. I'd like to fit these - is the loom the same on all the vans, and if so can I just fit the lights, indicator stalk with the front foglight switch, and fit the relay and have it all work?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Not sure on the seat, you may need to take it out and have a look at the rails.

You will get a warning with about 2500km to go that you need to refill the adblue.

Fog lights may not be so easy as the run through the computer systems, so you would need new stalk set, lights, possibly some wiring, and maybe even a fuse box unit under the bonnet - and then a computer to program it. And it may still not work...

Thanks Richard. And it sounds like regarding the fog lights the best solution would be for me to simply wire them up in the traditional accessory light way.

You can read/save/print the manuals from the service.citroen site, just need to select your language top right by clicking on the flag and then select your vehicle https://service.citroen.com/ACddb/index.html
Check there is nothing lodged in the seat rails that is stopping it going further back.

On the lighting stalk/com2000 the only difference between models with & without front fog lamps is the little picture on it that shows the fog lamps. They are electrically identical.
I've fitted a fair few genuine fog lamp kits to C2 & C3 models, on them the wiring is already there, you just plugged them in & programmed with Lexia. The kit also came with a little overlay sticker to stick on the original com2000 unit to show the front fog lamps symbol.

P.S. If it has Ad Blue it wont be a Partner 2, must be at least a 3.

Ah, intriguing, thanks!
Mine is a 2017 model first registered in Sweden in May of that year, it has the Euro 6, 1.6 bluehdi engine.

From a manufacturing point of view I guess it would make sense if there was only one basic loom, or at least only a small number of variants, rather than wiring each car individually for the particular options it was specified with.

Driving home from a work gig tonight I could really have used fog lights, because it was, er, very foggy! It seems odd that my car doesn't have them, considering it has other options like reversing sensors and foldey-in wing mirrors, neither of which are perhaps quite as useful as fog lights.

I've been able to check out the seat (I'd been away working for nearly three weeks) and it seems that it's working as it should, no foreign bodies in the rails, I just have to figure out how to get it to go further back.
