Hi there, I am replacing the head gasket on a Peugeot 107.
I have a slight chip in the thick part of the engine block
Just wondering what would be best and/or quickest way to fix, or if I need to at all. Spoke to a garage who told me a bit of liquid metal would fix it but want a second opinion first as never used before. My concern is getting the block completely flat before I put the new gasket on.
Any advice would really help, thanks.

I can not see a chip in the photo, maybe you need to take another and highlight the area. Was the head gasket leaking in this area ?

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

I wonder if he meant crack not chip, that mark on the top right looks like a hairline crack, if that's what he means it's a gamble to fill it with liquid metal and hope for the best.

I can't see the described fault either!
If it is that big horizon line top right then I'm not sure chemical metal will fix it, I'd stick it back together as is (and cross your fingers whilst seeking another engine probably)
If it's what Rp0thejester has identified then it's a teeny tiny dip in the casting and well away from any sealing surface so would not worry.
As others said, more pictures please!
