Clutch master cylinder peugeot Expert

Unread post by Greenmotors »

Hi all, I own a 2010 2.0hdi peugeot expert with a clutch problem. Long story short I bought the van last year with the clutch gone. Sent it to a mechanic who had a lot of trouble after changing the dmf and clutch in getting it to disengage. The fix was to blow out the pipe which connects to the master cylinder and pressure could then be applied to disengage the clutch. Drove OK ish after that but was never great and I had to bleed the slave cylinder as the peddle never felt perfect. I am now back in the same position trying to bleed the slave cylinder and can not get fluid out of it but loads of air. I believe its the original pipe from the master cylinder issue again so I want to remove the master cylinder from the clutch pedal. I am having difficulty removing the master cylinder rod from the pedal as there are plates blocking the pivot point. Is there a tool to separate the rod from the pedal or is terer a method to achieve this? Thanks for any help.

If you are trying to bleed the clutch by pushing the pedal down and up then I have found it does not work well. It is better to suck the fluid through from the slave cylinder bleed screw using something like a large syringe although I use a Mityvac pump. If when sucking the fluid through you are only getting air through then the fluid level in the reservoir is too low or there is a leak in the pipe. Also make sure the slave and master cylinders are not leaking which can happen if the seals are worn.
