3008 - EAT6 or ETG gearbox?

Unread post by JayAce777 »

New member :-D

We’re looking at getting a 3008 this week but struggling to work out if it has the EGC/ETG gearbox, or the later EAT6?!

A car check brings back “Allure ETG Euro 6” but then under model info it says “Bluehdi EAT6 Auto” so a bit confused.

It’s a ‘65’ plate car registered in late 2015.

Any help is most appreciated!!!

Welcome along!

That is a proper TC auto, rather than the clunky automated manual. The give away is that there will be a P position on the gear selector.

As it's a 1.6 HDi, at that age make sure the cambelt has been done, if not push to get it done before purchase, these have a habit of breaking early....!

I have had several of the EGS ETG gearboxes and when they came out they were brilliant. Sadly they changed their software so that they did better with emissions and ruined what was otherwise a good box. I have now had two cars with the EAT 6 box and have driven the EAT 8 boxed cars. All absolutely brilliant. It is a really clever box and much better than the older standard auto boxes. I partucularly like how the box will drop gears when going downhill to give engine braking so you don't overspeed.
