Peugeot 308 oil leak.

Unread post by LittleOldSuzi »

I did all 4 injectors on my daughter's 1.6HDi about 12 months ago and the oil is back all over injectors 1 & 2 and the underside of the bonnet. I thought the repair had failed but I now believe it is the intake pipework leaking and I would like some advice.

When I sprayed the cleaner over the injectors of the idling engine it rattled and splutters so I think some got sucked in. When I rev the engine after I washed it all down the water gets blown back out so there is a leak and it looks like it is coming from where the plastic intake pipes bolt to the head. I did have them off to clean everything last time and I did replace all 8 O rings but something hasn't sealed. Thanks all...

That still looks like the injectors are leaking to me... Given the compression/combustion pressures it'll only take a tiny leak to give the symptoms you have...

The only thing that makes me think differently is that spraying the cleaner down there upsets the engine. If it was injector seals the cleaner would be blown back but it is being sucked into the system so I am sure it is the intake seals/a cracked intake. But are the injectors playing up again? I guess I will find out after I reseat/replace the intake...
