Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hello,

I have a Citroen C5 2.0 HPi exclusive fitted with xenon and the left lamp changed the color to pink so I guess the lamp is dying.

Replacing xenon lamps is expensive, so I am thinking in change for a regular lamps.
Is that possible? Will the normal lamps fit?

Hi all I'm new hear I've got a Citroen c5 estate 2009 20lhdi went in for mot had to have wishbone bushes done and cv boots got it back and now the front suspension won't go up or down the back will drop but front won't its back in the garage but he is scratching his head is there any ideas of wat is wrong or I can do thank you

Hi al!
So i'm replacing the front shock absorber in my C5 -2010 hydraulic car (2.0 138bhp diesel). The problem is that the pipe is leaking at point B. in this picture.

1. Can one open this and replace the busing (partnumber?)? Or do I need to buy a whole new pipe.

2. That is the part number of A. and B.?

Yup, that's a fair summary (just wish I'd known as much when I needed a hub carrier, as I'm sure a 205 one would've been easier to find) but the brakes seem to be Visa GTi, rather than 205.

Hello

I've bought a used c4 VTS a while ago and interior lights(ones that light up when doors are opened, both front and back) don't work(although map lights and door lights(bottom) work).
Installations are fine, lamp housings are fine, but in the BSI where a 5A fuse should've been, I've found a 7.5A. I've put a 5A in, but lights still don't...

Never rreally worked on these cars before now and I'm learning about them.

Any advice or things I need to know when changing pads?

I know the rear calipers are weird and are in two parts, which when unbolted come apart and cause fluid loss! Should the brakes be bled after? Should the small rubber seal be replaced?

Does the piston just push back...

One thing I definitely would do is to see if there is any weird corrosion on the face of the calliper and the trailing are (where they meet). It is an electrolytic thing, and it will be hard but brittle. When I had it (on both of my Xantias) I used a hammer and sharp chisel to crack the corrosion, and then (tapping lightly at an angle) knock it...

Is there anyone who got the part number or exact dimensions of the top Simmering zeal on the steering rack valve?

Pinion axel are rusted so the zeal is leaking. I were give the advice it could be solved by press the zeal ~3mm further down to make it zeal against non rustet metal. Unfortunately the zeal is already 3mm down.

LDS, not LHM. LHM is used by Citroens up to the Xantia and XM, LDS is used by the C5 and C6. They are NOT interchangeable.

Good point James. I confuse them from time to time, but on in the Forum's! :-) LDS is what I got in the shelf, and nothing else!

And the grease I got in the grease gun and some tubes is Marine grease. It's not white...

I had to take a few parts out to install some new brake pipes and (rather stupidly) I didn't take pictures of where everything went. Everything is back together now but I can't find where to the vacuum pipe that comes out of the back of the vacuum tank goes. It is the pipe on it's own that points towards the back of the engine bay. Can...

I now know that the pipe I had connected to the clip is the drainage pipe. I was deceived as it fits very snug on the clip.
My final question is:
Does the vacuum pipe have a clip / cable tie to keep it in place? It seems very loose.

I recently bought a Citroen C5 tourer exclusive 2.0 HDI 160 auto - X7 model

The exterior condition was fairly good but the interior was let down by the gold paint flaked of around all 4 interior door handles

I thought initially the answer was to just get 4 new interior door handles from Citroen ...but very expensive for 4 bits of plastic parts...

I had the same on my X7 with the same mativoire beige paint. I did them myself, removed them all, prepared and primed several times and respirated with some colour matched paint. I put loads of lacquer coats on and they are now better than the originals.

Hi,

I'm after some advice please. I'm trying to remove the metal camshaft cover from my 16v hdi and it won't budge.

As far as I can see there are no missed bolts. It's the cover that the studs that hold the injectors screw into.

I've been told that there's a gasket type sealent used on them.

How easily should it lift off? I don't want to...

No appreciable lean in, maybe a tiny amount, nothing like my trusty BX TZD when its arm bearings went (still wish I had that one... :-) )
No indication of any shim material between the bearing and the sub-frame...

Hi. I wondered if anyone could shed any light on an error code we currently have. It has been intermittent, on for a day, off for a week. Has now been on for 2 days now.

checking with a basic ODB reader, I get P2562. Having a quick google, seems to be related to the turbo, and possibly the actuator?

Hi, Am now to this forum. I have a C5 with a leaking hydraulic loom part No 5270RN.

The garage says the part is no longer available and the car will need to be scrapped for sake of a part.

Any advice or help would be very, very welcome as I love the car itself.

It is highly likely that the pipe can be repaired by an industrial/agricultural hydraulics specialist, but they may require you to have the pipe removed from the car before they will repair it.

Failures of these pipes seem to be rare, so you could also consider fitting a second-hand part.

After my ac compeser not working, I now find my engine cooling fan not spinning I have started the car and left it for 15 mins and srill the fan doesn't spin. Fuse is fine as this fan got to do with ac compeser.

yes, the heater will work fine. It’s just your A/C compressor that will be out. So you’ll only get whatever temperature the outside air is coming in, or hotter if you need it, but not cooler.

So GSF supplied the wrong one but as they've got the old one, I don't have a pattern. Too bad my step-son didn't think to compare them when he collected it for me, but can hardly blame him. I'd probably recognise the right one if I saw it but that's not practicable.

It needed new brake pads on front and back. When we done the back the calipers were seized ( dont think pads were ever changed).

I have probed the wires going to the compressor clutch, and there is no power to it. So, there seems to be an electrial fault somewhere. I can buy a Citroen C5 estate for quite silly money. It's a 1.6 HDi seller says it needs tyres and wishbones. I like the look of it but I have heard stories about them being high maintenance. Any comments welcome, thanks!

Has anyone got any brake disc locating screws? I changed the discs and pads on my Dispatch and on one side I dropped one screw and lost it, the other one is a bit dodgy as the torx fitting was slightly stripped.

Can anyone please help as I’ve just bought a 2005 Citroen C4 1.4 Petrol which has had the engine light on which reads Anti Pollution and Speed Control Faulty.? I had a full service and even changed the spark plugs but the car has actually stopped driving or even starting up now with these faults coming up always.?

I've just been for a drive in my C5. It has the 2.2 DW12 BTED4 173 biturbo engine, as fitted to some C6's, not the earlier TED4 engine. Hi. I was checking the oil on my 2005 Berlingo (2 litre hdi) when I noticed the dipstick pipe was loose..then it came off in my hand. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it an easy fix? Thanks.

Yes, it's very real probability that it'll be worked off. And then there will be a terrible oil mess to clear up in the engine bay. The bonnet insulation is incredibly difficult (near impossible) to reclaim. I speak from experience!

This is my first post so, please, go easy on me :)

I was sat in my Citroen Nemo when it seemed to wobble ,then stall.

After a few minutes it stopped again, and would do this a few times before finally I had to resort to calling the RAC.

He waggled a few ECU wires, sprayed a bit of cleaning fluid here and there. It started but not kept...
