Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Sorry if this has been covered before, I did try to search and got some useful information but not specifically on flushing.

So I've got the good old low oil pressure warning and it is sounding a bit rattly up top so I figure it is a genuine thing.

I've only done about 3 or 4k miles since I changed the oil and cleaned the oil pick-up etc. etc....

Hello everyone,

Before I began writing this, I typed depollution system faulty into the forum search function and OMG! Sooo many answers! Sifting through them, I saw a lot of them to be 1.6Hdi-related, but none seemed to fit my set of symptoms, so here I am.

Hi guys,

I've just started my Citroen Relay 2012 2.2 130 Hdi (puma C) from cold and discovered a slight smell in the cabin and an odd sound (sounds like something is loose and rattling?).

Hope that cures it but don't forget Wheeler's advice re the clamp bolts, they are a very common problem with the 1.6 and can lead to far more serious problems with this engine - have a read through some of the relevant posts, it can be quite frightening.

Morning all.
After miles of sterling service my C8 decided to stop me in my tracks last night, and had to be recovered home by RAC.

Driving along, and went up a small kerb for parking and car just stopped. All electrics on, just no engine. Weird, but now car is stuck in Drive (Automatic) and will not go back into P.
Also half on and half off...

I've read through the threads about hard suspension apart from changing the 6 spheres I have run out of things to check. My problem started after I had a blown pipe from the hydraulic pump to the thing at the bottom of the engine (sorry I don't know what it's called). The pipe was replaced and the fluid replenished but my suspension is rock hard....

Thanks for posting the VIN.
Have done a check with that, and both parts (pinion and screw) are shown as still available.
Some dealers can be unhelpful at times, but just go armed with the info (parts page recommended) and ask them to order the parts for you.

After about 15 days I've had it in my possesion a warning light came on with the sign check adblue system .

Sounds like the clutch actuator maybe. Not a lot of info out there on stripping these things and rebuilding. Dealers want a fortune for it and parts are dealer only so can write off the car. Suspect that these actuators are all made by Bosch but have not seen them aftermarket...............they may be out there though. I would keep researching for...

I have a problem with slightly jerky steering and a pretty dark steering fluid. I would like to do a complete steering fluid change asap.

I have a citroen c8 2.0l hdi 2007, I was driving down the road when everything cut out and battery light came on, I checked my belt was still on, there was plenty of power to crank it over, to dont think power issue, I pumped primer pump a few times and it turned over, I drove down the road and this happened again about 5 times, so I thought must...

Hi All,

I have a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 HDi 2007 with the dreaded EGS gearbox

A couple of weeks ago I got the Gearbox Faulty message on the display followed by it being impossible to shift into any gear.

Hello guys, I just bought my first Citroen and the next day it broke down ( bad first impresion). The problem with it was that it is not running properly and even does not start! I plugged in car diagnostics and it showed me Cranckshaft sensor fault(which makes sense) but i cannot find find proper information about replacing it... I saw few videos...

The crank sensor is on the crank pulley end. It sits roughly at the 8 o’clock position on the pulley & held in with a single bolt (8mm from memory). There is a 3 pin connector on it too. Very easy to change once the plastic gaurd at the wheelarch is out the way.

Have you fitted the new MAF yet? That's worth a try. Certainly the sluggish running is a hallmark of the MAF being duff, and could feasibly also cause smoking.

Otherwise, sounds potentially turbo related. Check all air hoses for leaks/splits.

Hi everyone, I've recently replaced the front shock absorbers on my C5 x7, they are the Hydroactives ones.

I feel like the front is now sitting a tad bit higher than usual, wondering if it needs some sort of adjustment for the ride height or it's normal like that?

Find the clamp on the anti roll bar for the height corrector linkage.
Slacken the bolt off slightly and tap the clamp round the bar a fraction until it the ride height looks about right.
Best to do this on a four poster ramp though to avoid the risk of squashing yourself under the car.

Finally, my 4HP20 failed @280,000km after full throttle acceleration up to 170km/h on the highway. Probably failure occurred in the TC, still waiting to be taken apart. ATF leakage could be the cause leading to this failure.

I'm about to get round to sorting a few more things on my Dispatch. 2 drop arms and the anti roll bar. I've seen the anti roll bar repair kits, is there a make to go for or, more importantly, to stay away from? Same goes for the drop arms? Hi I need to find a suitable used replacement engine for my son's 2011 dispatch.
It is fitted with a 9HU 1.6hdi which I believe has the code: DV6UTED4. It has neither a DPF or DMF and is alleged to produce 90bhp.

Used DV6UTED4's appear to be comparitively expensive, while there are a number of DV6TED4's or even DV6ATED4's around for about half...

Hi all

I am after a bit of advice on Eolys system.
I occasionally get ‘’Risk of particle filter clogging’. Even when driving hard.
Also with Lexia I get
P1490 Fault differential pressure sensor
P1352 Fault Pre Post heating relay
I have replaced the sensor and the relay but the faults come back after clearing.

Recently, I have have had my temperature gauge flashing and beeping now and then. It is the top red segment that flashes when there is a beeping sound. I have checked the coolant level and all is OK and the beeping/flashing does not happen all the time.

Has anyone had this before on their C3 and is it the coolant sensor that needs to be replaced?

I have a 2006 C5 LX Estate 1.6 HDI. I'm sure there is a window in the tailgate but I can't seem to find a way of opening it. I wondered if it was only there on better equipped models, but there are hinges for it, and when pushing it out a little, there is clearly daylight and rubber trim for a window.

As I am quietly impressed with the miles my HDI exclusive has attained and the good service it continues to give, I was wondering what is the highest mileage Xantia is on the forum ?
