Afternoon, I've just got my C4 2023 C-Series. And I've got a few questions. The dealership unfortunately always gets me through to a new gentleman who just says he isn't sure. And when I tried local dealer I was actually told 'you didn't buy it from us, so we wouldn't want to help'. Which I'm absolutely astonished with. I said I'm local so for services you wouldn't want my business, response was 'well, we wouldn't prioritize you'. Why is this? Why be so rude? The local dealer wanted £380 a month, another dealer got me the same car for £316...
ANYWAY
Proximity keyless entry, is there a way of turning it off from proximity to just keyless entry via the door handle? On the MyCitroen app, it says 'activate/deactivate' but I don't have the option in my settings. I have to walk past my car at 5am and to have it unlock, then lock and go beep beep is unfortunate as I have neighbours and it's quite piercing.
Wireless charging isn't starting, I've got carplay initiated but my phone which does wirelessly charge isn't starting.
Lastly, on the description, it said 'manual child lock on second row' I only have the alarm off (button doesn't turn on, just I assume doesn't work?) and the heated steering wheel which goes green when I press. I saw on YouTube you can have a manual button for it which is what I expected... have they forgotten?
Thank you

Re:C4 - Keyless Proximity/Wireless and Child Lock
In no particular order:
CarPlay / Wireless Charging
Wireless charging is not the same as Wireless CarPlay. The wireless charging mat (if fitted) will charge a smartphone that supports magnetic induction charging system.
You may not have wireless CarPlay, which if the case, requires you to connect the iPhone via cable to the correct port (not the charging-only port).
Proximity Locking / Unlocking
In the manual. If the option is not on your App, then you need to press the vehicle options hard button that should be located near the touchscreen . This is where the automatic functions can be enabled or disabled. If you have the other system then it will be in the settings menu of the touchscreen.
Alarm Button
You misunderstand the function of this button. It is designed to temporarily disable the internal Volumetric Sensors that detect movement in air pressure inside the vehicle. When switching off the engine, hold this button down for a few seconds until it lights up, then exit and lock the vehicle. Internal movement detection will be disabled until you re-enter the vehicle again.
Heated Steering Wheel
If fitted, you should have this button to activate or deactivate it: It is located on the right of the steering wheel dash where the other controls are.
Child Lock
Although rear windows can be prevented from being opened using the driver's door control pad switch, the child lock for the rear doors on this vehicle is manually operated using the actual key stored in the fob, and manually inserted into the control inside the door aperture.

Re: C4 - Keyless Proximity/Wireless and Child Lock
Afternoon Marc, apologies, I may have confused matters.
CarPlay/Wireless Charging - My car said it came with Wireless charging. However, from the attachment there is no battery indicator, which would explain why it doesn't work. As I've got the C-Series this is a standard feature as listed. As a result, I'm not sure how it could be not included?
Proximity - Thank you, I'll take a look at that!
Alarm - Sorry, I don't understand why this would be useful? The alarm would go off even if not turned on right? I'll read the manual for that bit I guess. But thank you for confirming how to know it's illuminated.
Child lock - On the spec for the car it said 'manual child lock on 2nd row' which indicates the panel on the 2nd image. I've gone on YouTube and can be seen around 42" in on this link https://www.google.com/search?q=childlo ... nSZ1w,st:0

Re: C4 - Keyless Proximity/Wireless and Child Lock
No option on proximity, all I have is 'driver side unlock only' which is turned off and also disable folding mirrors, which is also turned off...
I'm guessing there's no way to stop the beep beep when locking?

I can check your specifications if you provide your VIN. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff. There should be a charge indicator if this is fitted and that looks like a standard storage mat to me not a wireless charging pad.CarPlay/Wireless Charging - My car said it came with Wireless charging. Sorted.Proximity - Thank you, I'll take a look at that!
The alarm system has internal and external protection. There may be cases where you have a animal being transported and need to lock the vehicle temporarily (for short periods of time and leaving the windows slightly open of course), so in this scenario, a dog leaping about all over the place would set off the interior movement sensors. The same goes for a child, where you want to lock the car, but don't want the alarm going off due to movement inside the car. Another reason may be that you want to leave the windows slightly open on a hot day and do not want your fluffy dice or wind entering the window aperture to set the alarm off. The exterior protection always remains on. So this alarm switch just temporarily disables the internal part only.Alarm - Sorry, I don't understand why this would be useful? No, that video is not relevant to your vehicle. That is for an older range of models. Don't rely on youtube videos for things that may not be relevant.Child lock - On the spec for the car it said 'manual child lock on 2nd row' which indicates the panel on the 2nd image. Re: C4 - Keyless Proximity/Wireless and Child Lock
Afternoon Marc, ok... sounds like I've misunderstood what the dealership told me as they said Wireless charging but have claimed that was on different models... which is a bit well, misleading personally. It's fine as I keep a lead in the car anyway.
That video is only 2 years old... I thought that would be new ha. It was also on the model that I tested which is why I queried. Again, maybe the salesperson didn't know that exacts was not a regular query and as such answered correctly but not how I understood from the button I saw. The child lock on the middle row I assume then relates to driver's side with the windows. That only affects the windows and not the doors, but that's ok.
Thank you for confirmation on the alarm, that makes a lot of sense now... not sure if it's sleep deprivation or being totally stupid but thank you! I really appreciate the guidance!
Do you know if there's a way to add multiple widgets to the driver display? On videos I can see sat nav on top and then petrol gauges below, but when I customise I can only add 1 widget.

Re: C4 - Keyless Proximity/Wireless and Child Lock
When they refer to 'rows' they mean seat rows... So some vehicles can have three rows of seats. Rear windows are inhibited by the door pad control switch arrowed here:
Door locking can be either electronically controlled on some vehicles or manually or both. In your case it requires the manual method using the key as per the manual you should now have.
As for the display, see page 11 regarding widgets. Type and quantity will depend on the screen type and other factors best left to the manual to explain.
With all vehicles, NEVER rely on what the salesman is telling you without checking exactly what you are purchasing. Some options are standard depending on the trim level, but on top of that there are also 'packs' or separate options that are only available to order from factory when new. Always research that you are getting exactly what you expect before handing over any cash. On a new car it should be in writing on the sheet that shows any optional equipment and costs.

Re: C4 - Keyless Proximity/Wireless and Child Lock
Thanks Marc, I've got the manual so I'll take a look. I was obviously being a bit lazy with asking.
There is a list and when it said manual child lock second row... I said like this, with the video and they said yes. Obviously that is for them to say no they didn't. But for now, I've got the manual way initiated. Just a bit of a disappointing start with a couple of things I thought I had but clearly dont

Re: C4 - Keyless Proximity/Wireless and Child Lock
I know - I've seen this happen a few times with some members swearing blind they should have kit (which were option packs) and rather disgruntled because they never checked the model they ordered. The demonstrator vehicles are usually better-specified with extra options to showcase the vehicle, but some think that the car they buy will have the same level of equipment and are accordingly
off!
