Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

The other day I was working on my Citroën C3 from 2016 and had to remove the scuttle panel but it was impossible to remove.
I removed the wiper arms and the two clips on each side of the windshield. I tried pulling the panel up but it didn't budge. The window is not the original one which came with the car so I'm suspecting that when the new...

No problem, just note as per the procedure, the wiper arms need removing first.

Yes of course. The last time I had them off but the clips hold the scuttle panel on very tightly. I'll try with a plastic spudger prying away from the windshield next time.

Hi all I'm new here :roll:

Bought a 2012 C5 Diesel VTR+ NAV 120kW 163hp from an auction in January with 122k miles.

I get the invalid oil level on ignition position every time, car was low on oil when I collected it. Did a full service on it and it took over 6 litres of oil to get it just over the minimum level on the dipstick and I didn't want...

The oil level sensor is on the other side of the dipstick almost pointing vertically down (which makes sense) and this sensor does have 2 pins and neither are grounded to the sensor metal body.

Gents, having a nightmare here. Could someone tell me the head size for the 3 waterpump studs please? I'm guessing E7 because an E6 is too small and an E8 has too much slack for my liking. If I chew the heads up it could be engine out to repair them.
Just want to confirm this before I buy one. What a ridiculous method to mount a waterpump.

in the last two months the clutch pedal of my 2011 C5(X7) 163hp HDI started behaving. The clutch seems to work but the pedal get stuck half way in the transition from the dead-band to the working zone.

A thought. Does the clutch pedal have an assist spring? This would be in line with the pivot with the pedal released, but as the pedal is pressed down, add a downward force. If now the pivot has a dry bearing, adding friction, there might be insufficient return force from the clutch to pull the pedal back up.

Hi,

My gf has a Citroen c3 2014 with a factory fitted stereo.

I wanted to wire a sub and amp into the head unit.

I've managed to thread the red positive wire thru the Bonnet cable release hole into the engine and onto the battery.

I've grounded the amp onto the chassis on the boot.

I have an RCA convertor for the RCA input from head unit...

But I still have a problem.

I can turn ignition off and on again and it still works. I can take keys out local the door go back in turn ignition and it still works.

But if the insteent panel display goes off (miles and trip meter) if left for a few mins. Then go back to the car and turn ignition on...

Hi, I have a 2008 Citroen C5. On two occasions at the end of a journey, after I have turned off the engine, my suspension has played up. Instead of settling into its resting position it has continued to go up and down for several minutes even when the key has been removed from the ignition.

Ok so on the MK II (MK I facelift) you should have a BHI where the ECU can be updated, so may be worth speaking to Citroen to see if there is a software update available. They will want to run a diagnostic first to check the version of the software you have, then this will be compared with the version recommended on their servers when they hook it...

So, I am slowly getting used to the C8. It has the standard LCD centre screen. When I got it the display was showing the overall MPG as 27.7mpg. Have refuelled, zeroed trip meter, driven a mixed 80 odd miles and it still assures me I am doing 27.7mpg. Real time MPG etc displays fine though.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried resetting it by holding in the button on the end of the stalk for around 5 seconds whilst on that screen? If that doesn’t work then a BSI reset should be next.

Thanks for the info. When I replaced the bulbs for the climate control panel, these were easy to access. Looking at the full heater control panel from behind it would appear to access the actual bulbs for the heater control panel this would need to be taken apart to access the bulbs. Good morning, I have a berlingo 625 en-prise blue HDI 2017 model. I recently had an EML light come on so took it into the dealer for a diagnostic.
The result was due to a faulty additive valve a new fuel tank is needed. Was told that tank would be approx 700 then the eolys would need filling about 100 and then labour, no mention of the adblue...

Hi,

As per the title really, how do Identify the part number of the BSI unit in my van, after MOT they did a scan as my rear sidelight still flashes sometimes and it showed up an intermitant internal fault in bsi or something.

Contacted an ecu repair company and they said they would beed the bsi part number, I had a look no stickers, and...

Had a new one today. This is a 'what happens if' question really as I managed to resolve the immediate problem. - C3 petrol 2006 stop start sensodrive

Thanks wheeler, especially for the aux battery info as I can now ignore that.

Makes sense that if the stop start is off then it can't complain :) I don't do many journeys where I have to stop and the engine does, 4-5 per journey every few days.
It is tedious when stopping a lot as it has to wake up and then move off and can cause a thump...

If you go into the menu via the radio & change the fuel consumption settings from Litres per 100km to MPG this should change the speedo/odometer back to MPH.

Hello, wondering if anyone can help. Haven’t found the same issue posted anywhere else.

When I shut the passenger side rear door it isn’t catching on the lower strike plate. So when both doors are shut the rear doors aren’t secure at all.

Is it a case of adjusting the strike plate position? Or is the door bent?

Hissing sound could be due to low gas and could be why it isn't blowing cold enough air. I had that problem with my previous car when there was a small (and slow) leak in the system.

Had an exploratory crawl under my new 2004 C8 diesel auto, the purpose was to have a leetle look at the gearbox oil colour after 79k. Got distracted by a coolant weep from the very corroded webasto heater pipes, then noticed this object. Yes the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SC) system treats the NOx in the Cat using UREA (Adblue), before the DPF Diesel Particulate Filter traps the particulate matter which it regularly regenerates to burn off the soot.

Earlier vehicles may just have a DPF, whilst later vehicles from about 2013 have both systems. They perform different functions...

My C8 has gained an irritating noise from the boot, I can see the tailgate rubber seal is collapsed in some areas (it was already before the noise started but it might be worse now, not sure).
Could the collapsed tailgate seal be the reason for the noise?

I suppose it could cause this. You may be able to adjust the striker to make the bootlid hold in tighter to se if the noise goes away.

Very rare to be a fuse - try another bulb first, then check the earth to the cluster - especially the pin and the connector. Check to make sure there isn't any signs of burning or melting near in the lamp cluster connector plug that the pins connect to.

Hi all first post, have recently purchased an 09 1600 HDi vtr+ and has a quick look underneath it yesterday.

There's a massive oil leak from the engine which I think might be the rocker cover gasket but that's a job for another day, however there were a few drops of PAS fluid around the subframe which looked like they were from the pipe seals....

Dont waste your time, the plastic rings will do nothing to stop or even slow down the inevitable. Citroen dont sell the pipe seals separate...

Hi All,

Recently purchased a C5 after having a Xantia for 15 odd years. I have to say it really nice to drive and a great peace of kit.

I've noticed that the switch in the boot on the right, to raise/lower the height doesn't seem to be working. any ideas on where to start with fault finding ?

It may be battery related - as in if the car is in economy mode it may have disabled the pump. A similar thing occurs with the motorised tailgate on Tourer models - when the battery is in poor health, this can prevent the electronic opening and closing of the tailgate.

How old is the battery? If 5 years or over it probably needs changing on the...

Rather than just letting the scrapman take it, I thought I'd offer this here for spares.
It will need trailering as has sat during covid.
Needs a new battery.
It's an 06 vtx+ hatch manual with a towbar.
High miles.

Hi guys, where abouts are the adjustment screws to adjust the low beam on my C4 Grand Picasso (2014) ?

Ive replaced bulbs but the beam seems too high on the passenger side so want to have a go at adjusting it myself before i revert to taking it to the garage!

I would first check you have the new bulb inserted correctly - this is a classic symptom of the bulb not fitted correctly. The headlamps should not normally need adjusting unless they have already been adjusted incorrectly - they don't move on their own.

Hi all, new here, and have a 2010 C5 2.0 HDI saloon with NON HYDRO i.e. steel spring suspension - love it, but need help:
I have a recurring front suspension knock and the car is eating drivers' side front tyres, with wear on the inside edge killing a tyre every 2-3000 miles.

I suggest raise your front driver side and check all the bushes on suspension and steering. Likewise the same on the nearside.
I will probably be at least one bush badly worn.

2014 C4 Grand Picasso diesel - BlueHDI 115 with egs gearbox - 71,000 miles.

It needs a new clutch and DMF. Some mechanics have told me Genuine Citroen parts are required for the job and aftermarket parts will give issues, others say aftermarket parts from good brands will do just fine.
