Rear view mirror loose

I pushed a little too hard on the rear view mirror and a) the mirror itself became loose in its socket b) the stuff holding the mirror also got loose. How to fix?

The plastic 'shells' oof the mirror enclosure / trim are designed to come apart for access - so have a look to soo if it's a matter of snapping them toogether - unless you've broken any of the plastic clips...
