Hi, have been an avid reader since I bought a C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 115hp 2016 but this is my first request to the forum members. Maybe I should split this into multiple posts but I will wait for your feedback to understand how to proceed. Thank you.
I wonder if someone could provide: default settings for BSI2010 and EDC17C60, mainly regarding fuel, oil, hands free system, lock and unlocking, ecus present, etc.. I understand it is an extensive list, probably I would not need all but I have doubts on if some of my parameters are correctly set (ie: fuel gauge law, oil gauge table selection, origin of oil level etc... too many to list all, truth is I may have fiddle around without backing things up first) It is also an opportunity to get familiar with my car.
As you can see I am particularly concerned with oil, as the car made 190k on others hands and I want to make it last as efficient and protected as possible, so it would be nice to have expected pressure tables by rpm and other parameters you guys would be particularly attentive on your own cars, let me know.
Also, I have the common problem with the drivers door handle proximity lock/unlock not working anymore. I have used diagbox to test the aerials and came to the conclusion that while on the passenger side the remote is detected as far as 0.8-1m on the drivers door it is also detected BUT not farther than 3cm from the centre of the handle. Would an open circuit (fault detected) allow the remote to be detected by the aerial? What could it mean? Lack of current? Bad sensor? Broken wires where the wires come out the door into the car?
Well, I have thirst for knowledge but will leave it for now as probably I am getting to boring for you.
I don't know if I should provide my VIN for the experts to help out, let me know please. Thank you so much (sry for my poor english)

Have you tried replacing the remote fob battery ?

That's an impossible request. There are no default parameters with the exception of certain settings that are defaulted, but this will depend on vehicle as to what these are. The rest of the configuration is vehicle-specific and these are programmed initially online by the PSA servers to match the marque, vehicle class, engine and all the vehicle equipment plus any options / trim-specific equipment fitted at factory. So no 2 cars will necessarily be the same for this reason.

If it's that badly messed-up, likely the best approach is to have the dealer re-apply the settings that PSA know.

Yes, these will be downloaded to the ECU - but will require a diagnostic fee from them of course, as they may have to do this several times. This assumes nothing has changed from the original factory-fitted equipment.

Yes I did. It was weird, one night closed the car using the sensor on the handle , on the other morning it would not work.
It is not real bad, the car works fine, smooth idle, the torque you would expect a car of that size with 115bhp, but I will consider your suggestion just to make sure.
Thank you. I understand that . I follow your suggestions if the car misbehaves. Actually the parameters I am not sure about are those 3: fuel gauge law, oil gauge table selection, origin of oil level; but I thought it would be possible and simpler to ask for someone to make a pdf with their parameters.GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑28 Nov 2024, 15:15 That's an impossible request. Anyway, I've read a post you replied of someone that had doubts about the oil pressures. You presented an interesting table relating the expected bars to rpm. Is that something you could provide me with if I provide you the needed information? Would appreciate that very much.
Thank you all for redirecting me to the most sensible route.

Specify the exact settings you need to check and the VIN. I will see if I have the data for the BSI for this engine.

Re: ECUs default parameters . New owner may have messed up :)
This is my vehicle VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
Sometimes when I park the car on a steep road I get a fault mentioning Oil level>"voltage too high" and the live stream shows "Absent or invalid" at a value of 255. Checking the oil stick, at level ground, seems fine. That is why I wondered if I did mess up some of the values (for not backing up the original ones). Despite this the runs very smooth, low consumption, smooth idle, good power.
These are the ones that bother me not being sure they are well configured:
BSI>bsi2010>vehicle configuration>power unit>Presence and type of oil pressure sensor? I have it on analog
EMU>EDC17C60>
>fuel gauge law? I have it on Law4
>oil gauge table selection? I have it on Table1
>origin of oil level? I have it on? Engine ECU
Also these are some persistent faults that show up on this car, could you please offer me some knowledge?
LEFT HAND WINDSCREEN WIPER MOTOR>
B11B1 81 FAULT IN THE WIPING REFERENCE VALUE FROM THE BSI - REFERENCE VALUE ABSENT OR NOT VALID
INTRUMENT PANEL>
B1003 54 SECURE CONFIGURATION FAULTY - ABSENCE OF CALIBRATION
RAIN AND BRIGHTNESS SENSOR> GOT ECU
U1807 81 PARK INFORMATION FAULT - DATA RECEIVED INVALID
Appreciate your time and patience.

Re: ECUs default parameters . New owner may have messed up :)
Ok, so you have the correct values for this engine and vehicle:
1) Fuel gauge pattern - Selection of the vehicle: Fuel Gauge Law for Euro 6 vehicles is Law 4
2) Engine oil gauging table selection: Table No 1 - Diesel engine or EP Euro 6 emission control standard engine.
3) Origin of oil pressure information: Engine management ECU
Faults
This fault relates to lack of configuration of the Multi-Function Video Camera. You may not be able to configure this with Diagbox if the ECU is in secure mode - it may require server access - depends on ECU version and version of Diagbox used.

Re: ECUs default parameters . New owner may have messed up :)
Oh Mark, that was so very helpful. Thank you so much.
Going to test the wiring of the wipers motors asap.
About the MVC, my car has none, I mean, it does but it is an aftermarket one connected to androidauto module (not ecu/bsi related). Could the MVC or something related to it be enabled somewhere on the ecus and it shouldn't? I did a thorough sweep but didn't see anything looking out of "place", but what do I know.
I apologise for having so many questions. Just excited with the car.
Last thing, is there a place where I could see the expected oil pressures at certain engine loads? I bought the MTA for the car and it feels quite incomplete, was expecting specs and values for every piece of the car . Also searched and always end up on one of your old replies to a post...

Ok, so there could be several possibilities regarding the Camera:
1) If you have used any vehicle wiring for connection to your Android or aftermarket camera, this may be causing a CAN problem being detected by the network.
2) The setting in the BSI may have been incorrectly configured, so that the BSI is expecting a camera to be fitted when there isn't an official one - so is bringing up a comms error.
