Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi,

My Xsara Picasso (2001 8v 1.6)n has started to develop a 'chattering' sound when idling with the clutch disengaged. The noise goes when the clutch is fully depressed.

I'm guessing that's a spigot bearing?

There's also bit of a thump when the clutch is let in despite 3 x new gearbox/engine mounts. And I've double-checked the infamous rear...

The outside temperature sensor on my 2010 stopped working I have bought a replacement unit and a new drivers side mirror glass in case of disaster when removing old glass.
Having removed the glass and the coloured mirror back plate still can not see how to remove/replace the sensor !
Cant even see the unit apart from the nipple protruding from...

Apart from the outside temperature display, the temp sensor is also used for the correct operation of the Air Conditioning / Climate control systems. So it will be used by the BSI and the Climate control ECUs

Ok, there's a bit of a story and I've been a bit gun-ho in my approach to trouble shooting. I've made things worse but I have a plan to get me out of a hole!

Have a look at my post here with removal details of the mirror. Also, be aware that there are quite a few variations of model of these mirror depending on the functions - they are not cheap with some costing just about £750 each new.

Hello , I've changed BSI ,because old one has died. No communication at all with all modules. When i put new(used) BSI virgin I've done configuration with Autel ,but clusters whole time are black no lights. What could be wrong ? Thank's for advice.

But has the new unit been programmed with the customer confidential code that the engine ECU and transponder keys use? These as you are probably aware are a matched set. So configuration of the options are not enough - it must be coded to the vehicle.

If you've done all that, then something isn't right or the BSI is the wrong type. Hard to say.

Oops I posted this in Renault by mistake.

I'm looking at 2 C5 x7s.
One has the v6 2.7 engine and the other the 2.0 160 bhp
The 2.7 is very smooth and has been well serviced etc.
Is it worth a punt or is the 2.0 a safer bet?
I will be grateful for opinions please.

The LRJ may have different implementations of these engines - they do on the 3.0 with how they treat the emissions using over-fuelling I believe - with engine lubrication suffering as a result of oil contamination, where PSA have the good old Eolys system to deal with that. But like anything - good, regular maintenance with good quality lubricants...

Hi.

I've got a 2001 1.6 8v Xsara Picasso SX with the two-piece sunroof - front glass panel slides back over the rear glass panel.

Can you still get the sunroof seal? Mine is slightly damaged and although not leaking the seal is distorted and a bit compress at one side of the front edge, and just doesn't sit right.

I have what seems to be dealer fitted (Australia) European spec towbar.

I cannot find any wiring plug for the towbar at all.

Just wondering whether this model came with a plug from the factory somewhere on the loom?

Any advice on wiring up one of these otherwise?

I have a 2007 C4 Picasso, 1.6 HDi.

I've really been through the wringer with this car, It has been to several mechanics and been off the road now for over two months. My Dad is terminally ill so I really need transport and have decided to take matters into my own hands now.

It is very low on power, it makes a clicking noise and runs quite rough...

Rattle from the front n/s (steel sprung) when going over bumps, actually sounds more like someone hitting the underside of the floor with a hammer! Cant find any worn bushes, not that I can see anyway. Any suggestions?

OK thanks for that. I have checked through dozens on Ebay and they only mention one spring with no options so I have ordered a Kilen At £26.18, a bit cheaper than OE. At least it will get the car back on the road. Just so happens that the CV joint boot has failed on the same side so that should save a bit of hassle.

Sadly I may have a leaky front strut on my sisters C5. I was hoping it would have just been the return pipe but after issuing instructions and pictures I’m told it is more serious than that.

I called Pleiades about a strut refurbishment and they said that they couldn’t be overhauled. Is this true? I wasn’t sure if they didn’t do the overhaul or...

Saw a C8 today, with what looks like an airscoop underneath the chassis, nearside close to the passenger door / wheel.

What is it for?

I have replaced more fuel coolers & pipes than i can count on the C8/Dispatch due to this air scoop every time there is a bit of snow.

It's a different system, but has piloted torque reaction rods as opposed to the other damping system on the 2.2. It uses some vacuum pipes and a separate reservoir as part of the voodoo system. as well as elastic mountings.

Hi everyone

Trying to figure out what could cause this odd noise when my c4gp is idling, it sounds like vibration/knocking but soon as I pick up revs it’s fine and driving the engine is fine, it’s usually not there when you start car either takes a few minutes then it appears, usually can hear it after stopping to park up or when I stop at stand...

GOOD NEWS solved the rattle it was the aircon pipes I believe on the drivers side, the clip was broken what holds them and when they moved slightly back it was making that noise.

The service light is another issue, came on again BEEP and illuminated service light then it goes off within seconds.

I have a problem with my Citroen C5 X7 2011 1.6 vtr + nav. The heater blower does not work at times and I think it my be the resistor that is faulty.
Does anyone know where the resistor is located as I have looked under the dash on both sides after removing the trim, but I cannot see it.

I know on my older MK 1 it is located near the steering...

I can't remember how to log the settings of the wing mirror adjustment when going into reverse? I've got an '09 C5 Exclusive tourer.

3) Now adjust the mirror position and index to how you want it (i.e to view the kerb)

Is there an easy way to tell if my car vin: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff], has any outstanding recall issues?
I have the wiper issue with the driver side, which might have been covered in a recall.

To save you time, the driver's side windscreen motor recall was only for C5 vehicles with VINs in the range of the last 8 letters / numbers starting from 9L518753 and ending 9L541864, so you are much later and the issue was fixed for cars outside this range.

It could be incorrectly fitted but at the same time its not uncommon to have to make some ‘modifications’ to make cheap aftermarket exhausts fit. You might be able to tweak the heat sheid to make it sit clear.

Went to price a tow bar and leccy today.

Not a fault ive seen on a PSA car with oil, seen it plenty of times with coolant wicking up the wiring from a cracked coolant temp sensor & straight into the ECU, never any signs of external leaks.
Like you say the TD5 Landrovers are very common for this with the ECU filling with oil.

I have recently bought a 2013 Citroen C4 Picasso EHDi Exclusive, 25000 miles.

I have a 2009 Berlingo! It won't start from key but runs fine when bump start.
Tried jumping with leads still no joy.
First thought was starter motor BUT where they is it!

You would need to see if they do the right one for your car, but I have (in the past) used a reconditioned starter motor from GSF. For my first C5 it cost about £120, but as I then returned the old motor in the packaging provided I got back about £60 (obviously the refurbishment company (in this case, Bosch) need a supply or motors to refurbish).

No problems - I think they are quite easy to put up and remove - probably just a slot into the dedicated roof recesses and then swing the bottom forward flush to the back of the rear seat where the straps probably just go through the tether rings. So should be simple and relatively quick to remove and lay flat.

I've owned a synergie HDi SX from new, it's the one with climate control. Now for the third time I have a problem that the heater fan is permanently on full speed. Even with climate control switched off completely the fan is still going. With climate control switched on I can press the fan speed up and down buttons and the little bargraph...

Hello all. I’ve had a little read on here and I think my sister’s 2001 C5 has the early TPMS from new but it has been deactivated, probably when the batteries in the sensors died.

The wheels have the solid metal valve stems that look like the TPMS my C6 had in but there is no mention of Tyre Pressure Monitoring in the central display screen...

Dear collegaues,

when changing tyres on my C5 X7 one jacking point bent. I had to use a big plummers wrench to straighten it out. When I jacked the car, I found out the jacking point bent again.
I am afraid the trolley jack creates a sideway force that bents the point. After straightening it, I took the jack from my Xantia, but that did not help...

Just a quick question on the capacity of the entire system.
Yes i think i have a leak, not sure from where and aware the fluid is Total LDS and is orange in colour but just trying to work out what the capacity is for the system.

I cannot see any obvious leak, it is losing a little bit so it will be going to my trusted garage to investigate the leak, gut and head both say steering rack as if pump or a hose it would be spraying it out at a rate of knots which it is not.
