Coolant pump crusty stuff.
Just changed both belt kits and wondered what this substance is on the old pump?

If you did not change the old water pump then it needs doing. Its bearing has worn so it has allowed the seal to wear and then let out coolant. At first it might just be drips but will quickly get a lot worse.

It was changed. I just wondered what the crusty stuf was. It wasn't wet and the car wasn't loosing collant that I noticed. The pump was noisy though. Well I think it was the pump because the car is a lot quieter now.
