Adblue - Citroen claim

Unread post by Ahwokhq »

Interested to know if anyone has had any luck claiming out of warranty on this issue.

It seems to be a fundamental design flaw.

I’ve been told as my car is a 2015 and not maintained by a Citroen service history they aren’t interested.

Frustrated doesn’t cut it, having spent £4k on repairs in 18 months on genuine perishables.

There are lots of cases here were the issue has been partly or completely covered by Citroen. Yes, it does depend on your service history, mileage and age, so each case is unique.

The level of 'good will', if any, depends on all these factors and they are likely to look more favourably on a car that has been annually serviced and serviced according to the manufacturer's requirements for each standard service. So an oil change won't cut it, but if you have evidence of correct servicing each year, they can't really refuse - but the vehicle age is against you now as it's 9 years old and I believe Citroen provided some level of coverage for up to 7 years.

Thanks for the response. Wishing I’d done some forums research before purchasing.

My local French car garage are loving me as a customer about now 🥴

Citroen/Peugeot will do partial covering of costs of the urea system up 8 years or 131,000 miles.
However this would be unlikely without proper service history even if it was within the 8 years/131,000 miles.
