Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi all

I believe some had/has this issue. Peeling buttons. In my case its Vol- button on steering wheel. It was damaged when we purchased the car. Getting worse with time. I know thst the best solution is to replace button with the new one. Still, maybe someone knows good DIY method to fix this.

I think you'll find the control module is a complete unit - the circular unit that goes around the steering wheel containing all the controls. which would be quite expensive. I would use a bit of opaque paint (to allow the light to shine through at night) if you have a steady hand.

First you need to work out the likely cause:

1) Test the Radio first - can you here the whine increase with the engine speed increase?
2) Now change to CD source or Bluetooth Streaming. Can you still hear the same whining noise?

If the noise is only on the radio, then the fault is likely a poor earth from the aerial - so check the earthing...

I recently installed what I thought was an RD45 head unit into my C3. It came from a Peugeot 207 with bluetooth. Unfortunately I found out it is a RD4 with a separate bluetooth module. I managed to find the bluetooth module (it was above the glovebox on the 207) and removed it. I also removed the aux/usb socket and the microphone from the car too....

I really wouldn't bother with it - get an RD45. The wiring is simpler and cuts out an intermediate stage.

I have just purchased a 2008 C3. It has the factory fitted cd/mp3 head unit but without bluetooth. I have a factory head unit from a 2011 207 which has bluetooth. Is there any way I can fit the bluetooth head unit to the C3 and get the bluetooth working?

Ok, so without getting the main menu up for the ECU,. you are not going to get into the configuration screen. Maybe your VCI is a revision B and not fully CAN compliant with missing hardware. The cheaper Chinese clones did cut-down versions that have issues with the C5. If the VCI can't communicate with the some ECUs that may be where your problem...

I have accidentally activated the privacy mode and so can't hear any calls.

How do I deactivated this ?

Form the bluetooth telephone there are 3 options:

Bluetooth configuration
Call
Manage the telephone call

I cannot access the 3rd option.

Any ideas please.

I've never really been a fan of the mfd as although it's fairly big it doesn't really show much without having to press the end of the stalk all the time to cycle. Hi, i recently switched my RD4 to RD45 and i noticed two problems.

1. I lost parking 'beep' sound when on reverse gear. Parking sensor display works as before.
2. Whenever i turn on the radio by pressing the button i hear weird sound coming from all the speakers, it lasts for about 2 seconds and then radio works. Even weirder, the same sound...

Hi all

Need help, my father's just got a 2011 5008, has what I think is an Rd4 radio with Bluetooth options and a steering wheel stalk with phone symbol on it.

I can get his Samsung S6 connected, shows phone symbol, signal bars and phone provider on radio screen. But it does not show incoming calls, can't answer calls, can't hear any call...

So I had something like this and broke, the truth is that for hands free was FTPΗ but for to listen musik from cel phone to RD4 was perfect to me .
Conclusion we do not go through it again nor do we make the effort to crouch if we find it thrown somewhere. .

Hi, ive changed the headunit from my c5 and it had an alpine head unit, so I've bought an rd45 but the rca wires are in the wrong part of the block because my car must have come with the rd4, does anyone know which part of the block the rca wires go into because at the moment they dont touch anything on the head unit, thanks

It seems there are different behaviours depending on various factors. For example, today the USB drive needed no replugging. It was an 8Gb USB 2.0 drive formatted in FAT32. My first try was with a 16Gb one, and though it worked, the radio didn't acknowledge the drive afte being switched off and the back on again.

It’s my thinking that you should be able to save 6 presets for each of the 4 wavebands.
E.g. FM1 could be for 6 radio stations, FM2 six different stations & so on for the other two wavebands giving 6 x 4 = 24 presets.

I am having intermittent problems with bluetooth on my RD45 on a '12 X7.

Roughly 80% of time it works normally, but sometimes when i start the car the unit does not connect to my phone. Phone not connected message is displayed all the time, even if i turn off the radio. When this fault occurs, I cannot access any submenu of bluetooth settings...

Thanks for the schematics, but something is missing:
- the rear tweeters, where are the rear tweeters are connected too?
- the input in the amplifier from the head unit - from my knowledge the head unit doesn't have an output for the amplifier. So, if this is true from where I can get the signal for the amplifier?

Hello all
So I've bought RD45 replacement for the old RD4 to support BT music and phone in my Grand Picasso C4 2013.
I was able to configure the radio to work well (added the VIN to the radio using Lexia).

However, i can't see any option to enable the screen for adding Bluetooth menu.... as far as I know, I have screen type c and it should...

If I remember correctly, on the 308 you need to also enable bluetooth hands-free (either in the BSI or screen configuration, I dont remember which) as if the earlier Nomad hands-free was fitted, so that the bluetooth screen display was enabled.

I have a Citroen C3 from 2007 and its radio unit is RD4, I have attached an aux cable into the back of the unit (I believe into AUX1 on the left side looking at it from the front) however it does not work when I try to play music. i have bought an aux cable and connected it to the back of the radio.
it didn't work apparently i have to use the obd port and menu selection cd & aux 1 to enable the aux.

I was looking for a obd2 cable to usb and get hold of diagbox to do it.
But i just messaged this guy
and he told me that this won't work with diagbox.

So my project with the 407 is continuing. It's a 2007.

The multifunction display is toast on it. The typical fault of lines and disappearing letters, as soon as it gets hot.

Been googling a lot and reading. There seems to be no repairing possibilities? If anyone knows it would be wonderful to try repairing it at home.

Yes you can code the RD4 Head Unit easily enough with Lexia for a 2005 C5. Run a Global test and then select the Head Unit ECU, select and go into parameters / configuration / manual configuration and the options should be there.

I think I'm going to get a Bluetooth and dab rds transmitter. Not cheep but it'll give me Bluetooth and dab without losing any peugeot features by fitting an aftermarket stereo.

You can replace your RD4 with a RD45 that has Bluetooth for handsfree and music streaming. You will also require a new MFD or at the very least your current one reconfiguring.

The RDS on the radio (RD4) in my 3008 is not keen on re-tuning to another station. The RDS is working as it picks up the station and the RDS text comes through, and alternative frequencies is turned on, but it almost never changes frequency.
