Hello the stop light started flashing on and off.

When I stopped the car I could hear some kind of motor running with the engine running. I switched the engine off and the motor noise carry on going. I took the battery lead of and the noise then stopped.

But soon as you start the car the motor noise starts again.

All done and dusted. I removed screws holding the actual lock in place and let it hang a bit. Fitted outside handle and it just seemed to slot straight into place. Refitted lock quick, before it changed it's mind. Two rivets and a good bath of motorcycle chain grease later, job done.

My recently purchased 407 Coupe has only 3 TPMS valves with one normal valve on its wheels. The three TPMS are also badly corroded, one on NS Front is broken so cannot inflate the tyre.

I have been contemplating whether to buy 4 new TPMS vales and install (the JLR ones same as used on Peugeot are cheap at 4 for £50). However putting new ones...

They are by their nature a bit tight. Factory I think have a small blob of loctite or similar on the ends of the threads, not a bad idea generally for this kind of fastener (the 'carriage to the hub' bolt, not the calliper to carriage bolt) :)

The car first wouldn't start when it got very damp after not being used for a while, I dried it all out by leaving all the doors open on a nice bright day, reset the BSI and it started fine, since then its been left standing again and nothing will make it go.

I have dried out all the connectors under the drivers carpet and removed the BSI ECU...

My car is Peugeot 407 2005 2.0 L petrol engin with al4 auto gearbox

About 3 month ago I received the oil wear counter warning
So the technician he replaced the whole gearbox oil (I am not sure what type of atf he used) and he reset the oil wear counter.
And from that day my problems starts

I start receiving 2 errors mostly after long drive...

Hi the long saga of poor starting continues. The car reluctantly starts from cold but runs very rough and cuts out if you dont keep a little throttle going. Once its warmed up it runs great (and just sailed thro MOT with no advisories).
It was suggested that the temp sensor might be the issue by not telling the ECU to boost the fuel on cold start....

The modern way I guess. Its good and bad (in my opinion) as you get the power of say a 1.2 / 1.3 engine with the capacity and fuel efficiency of a 1.0 (or less) unit. The price to pay is the slight complexity in doing this however. :)

I too have never had much luck with the split 'repair' boots as the last ones I tried many years ago, well you had to glue them together. Trouble is its quite difficult due to the potential for grease there. Some other types have tiny bolts along the length which do work but I'm unsure on their availability for FWD cars.

it was always on the cards, now the SWMBO's 206 cc 2.0 petrol 2001 clutch has gone west.. it took the crank sensor too, just to be nice ;)

LUK ordered, oil and seals and bushes to order, plus the sensor..

this job has the look of hideous somehow.. but maybe its not that bad..
Has anyone done one for this engine? not sure if its same as...

I have recently replaced my 406 Hdi estate which has given me 60,000 miles of almost faultless service and now it wont start, comes up with a key on the display, this happened after I had removed the radio to fit in the other car.

I have tried three BSI resets to no avail, everything else electrical works as it should. The key is being detected...

If its the older mechanical type and you're getting that kind of fault carefully examine all those large round multiplugs in the engine bay (open them if you can, they should just unscrew) for corrosion as with a PSA 'quirk' most of them appear to just be male pins on both halves of the connector ( ! )

405's and 106's used to 'suffer' with this...

However, recently after the car has been turned off. when I restart the Date & Time display is flashing and has gone back to the year 2000. I'd half suggest the fuel piping that runs across the back / top of the engine as if its in the same place as the 1.4 units (in the 307 and 206) they can get a bit porous over time.

Is there any clear piping in the fuel line ? Can you check this for bubbles ?

Thanks Bick, I had supposed that the gurgling/bubbling sound would be returning fuel re-entering the tank, that may suggest a blockage/problem further along the fuel line? I believe that the pump in the tank only primes the system and the larger pump engineside would then drag the fuel up.

Can someone help please? In the middle of doing the cam belt, but the eccentric cam that releases the tension has a worn 10mm head. I can't find the the part for love nor money. I don't need the full tensioner, just the 'releasing cam'. Does anyone know the part number please?

Hiya, I have a 94 Xantia with A little fix here and there it's been a brilliant car really. My Partner uses it now for her 3 day commute to town and back as I take train. New to the forum here. The other half has got a 1.6 Petrol 307 LX.

Hey guys. Ok so ive just bought a peugeot 807 2.2 hdi and ive changed the standard stereo for a pioneer cd player. The problem im having is that the new stereo wont turn off when i take the key out the ignition like the origional one did. Any ideas guys? Ive switched the yellow lead to red and red to yellow and it hasnt made a difference. Cheers...

got what I think are starter motor solenoid problems with daughters car 207 1.4 petrol

Whirring noise when driving

2003 plate 307 2.0l HDI when accelerating it makes like a whirring sound. When idle its totally fine.
Think it maybe the drive shaft or clutch. Only makes a noise when accelerating when clutch is pressed it slowed down but doesn't go away unless the car is going slow. Here is an audio clip from inside the car.

ABS warning light on, ABS fault displayed and diagnostic check showed near side rear sensor problem. Simple fix you might think - wrong !! I have had the sensor changed, visually inspected and cleaned the ABS ring, checked the wiring continuity, resistance and voltage at pins 8 & 9. All reads and appears normal but still the fault...
