Diesel additive minimum level

Post by Dcourt »

Hi I have just had a diesel additive minimum level message come up on my Peugeot 307 2.0 hdi 136, does anyone know how much pat fluid the tank holds and what pat fluid I will need to get?

Cheers

If it has just come on, no rush......good few miles left before it runs out.

If you post your Vin number they will be able to advise

Similar thread on Citroen recently: http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... =3&t=50195

I had a look on servicebox but I couldn't find the additive mentioned anywhere. It gives the RP as 10089, which would suggest 176 as per the thread - assuming Pug is the same as Citroen!!

How long do you think the additive will last as the earliest I can get in into the garage is Thursday! The car is in daily use aswell?

IIRC the computer does not 'know' how much additive there is (no level sensor), it merely calculates it from the number of times the fuel cap is opened (it has a sensor for this).

very true....it will depend if you do a lot of £20.00 "splash and dash" or always fill your tank. A good few times I have seen comments saying people get warnings and the addativeis at 40% (ish).

You will need a Lexia to "Re-set" the system after filling.... normally Indi garages do not have one.

The sensor is on the filler tube and the cap has magnets normally.

Had the fluid topped up and reset and the error message is still coming up! Any clue what this would be?

That is probably the reason the error has not cleared. PSA cars use their own proprietary software in the cars. As a result, normal generic car readers cannot 'see' PSA cars. You need to use a Lexia clone (which CAN handle PSA cars) to reset the additive counter.
