Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I went today to the dealer because I have some strange behavior with the steering wheel. The say I need to replace inner and outer tie rod, and they personally showed me there is bad movement. And of course, price was 350€ which is ridiculous. I paid 12€ for diagnostic and went to the autoparts to order the rods. Of course, price is 60€ total....

Just bought a 2014 expert van, doesnt have any cargo area lighting. given how it knows the doors are open ( on screen) my thinking is bsi controls boot light in the cars? Can i find or enable this output for a small led strip? Wanting it to work just like normal boot light, door open light on unless time expires then it switches off automaticly....

Hi,

I'm sure there must be some posts on this but can't find them, if someone can direct me to them it would be helpful.

I needed a cheap car to tow my caravan and found a 307 2.0 Rapier HDi 90. It was running perfectly until I removed the fuel filter to find out which type is fitted, I also removed the cabin filter and air filter for the same...

We have an error on a 1.6 HDi 2007 207 that warns of a risk of the DPF blocking. PP2000 gives 1 error of P1351 relating to the glow plug circuit and I understand the glow plugs are used in manner I won't pretend to understand fully to clean the DPF :roll:

Now I know the glow plugs have been buried down the back of this engine and so I am hoping...

The Toad Ai606 is a good cat 1 alarm, as with any cat 1 system to give it cat 1 status it has to be installed by an approved fitter. This can be fairly expensive so if its just to bring insurance down it may not actually be worth it, check with your insurance and see how much it will save you first.

Hi all I have a couple of noise's coming from the passenger side rear of my car. Best way I can describe it is that it sounds like someone drilling a sheet of metal and there is also a rattle along with it. The noise's are not there all the time they come and go.

Hi and welcome.

I thinky our best bet initially is to have it up on a ramp and get the exhaust inspected - you may have a loose exhaust / clamp or heat shield flapping about. Get somewhere like ATS to get it up on their 4 post lift.

I have a 1997 expert 1.9D upgraded (with the help of this forum) to 1.9TD circa 2003. That's still going strong, so well done to everyone involved. The van is used as a camper, not a Van.

My brake compensator is a bit sad. The arm is very stiff (although it does still move) and I can't get it off the vehicle for a good fettle without replacing...

Hello,
I have a Peugeot 308 2009 my rear fog light does not come on but showing on dashboard also my passenger window only works from that doors button.
I have tried a BSI reset but still the same.Any advise would be gratful.

I did another BSI reset and that allowed the rear fog light to work.

My suspension arm lower balljoint has had an advisory 'gaitor deteriorated but still exlcuding dust' every year since 2014 so I figure I really should replace it this year. (And a whole new arm _delivered_ is only £30, which is extremely reasonable IMHO!)

However, the clamp bolt _really_ doesn't want to come out. Can I just check that the bolt is...

OK. I got it off eventually, by dremelling away some of that shoulder so as to get a decent 'bite' on the bolt head, then applying a nice long breaker bar. It is indeed not threaded into the clamp (I didn't expect it to be, but it resisted coming out quite hard and I was beginning to wonder). As ever, getting the balljoint stub out of the clamp...

Hi just found this great forum, need some advice I have been having issues with cruise control, it will work at low speeds but anything over 50mph it will not set. If you put the car under load like going up hill it cancels. Sometimes if you turn the car off then on it may work. Had the AA out and the following codes were diagnosed p0569 and...

I thought I posted about this already, but I can't find a relevant post.
My van is now 20 years old and needs a bit of painting for touch-up.
I found info here about point codes being found on the door tyre pressure label, or a stencil on the strut turrets. Unfortunately I don't have a paint code in either of those places, so had to ask local...

Yes, sorry the build date is 5th June 1997. I tend to check the warranty start date when I'm doing a lot of posts - as it is easier to see - but on some older vehicles (pre 2000) it sometimes defaults to 1990. I should of checked your RPO directly, so no panic. :-D

Hi,

New to the forums and looking for help, I have a 306 XS 18 16v that warped the head, I sourced an S16 engine loom and key, everything installed, engine turns over but she isn't getting fuel or spark.

I can only deduce that the immobilizer is on

The car it came from is now crushed so if it had a keypad it's long gone.

Any advice you guys...

My Peugeot 407 SW has a minor lighting problem which I assume will be a major problem come the MOT.

The lighting control stalk when set at sidelights allows both dipped beam and sidelights to illuminate.

The dipped beam setting on the control stalk is now identical, allowing both dipped and side lights to shine.

Hi guys , my son has a pug 308 1.6 petrol
When it’s cold the engine rattles like hell
When it warms up it gets much quieter to the point where it almost disappears
The dealers have quoted nearly a grand for complete timing chain assembly 😮😡
A friend of mine said just replace the tensioner on the outside of the engine after a flush and oil change...

Had a chap replace a pump for me, it worked for about half an hour after being fitted and then stopped...

Deduced it must be a duff pump, ordered another and fitted it - same thing happened!

These are very basic units, just running off the belt... could it be a bad batch or might there be something else at play?

They're only a few seconds long but it's enough to hear the pulley noise - like a scoring hissing sound. The further away from the car you are, the more it sounds like a loud hissing sound.

My Peugeot 308 (2008.) 1.6 HDi for already a month is stalling at a set rpm, the car is bumping until i come to a stop where it usualy cuts out or barely survives on like 400 rpm.
I would also like to mention that it sometimes is very hard to start him up because it stalls heavily on idle rpm, it stalls to a point of shutdown.

Hi, slightly strange and pointless question but I'm just curious. My 405 is a 1992 GRDT. Where did that trim level sit in the range and what was the equipment available?

not entirely sure, but a GRDT would be near, possibly at, the top of the Estates. (various sporty Saloons)

Equipment, no idea; but bring back manual window winders I say. My 1995 GLX has Leccy fronts, pain in the proverbial.

I know they did an STDT in some models, but dunno whether the 405Est was ever offered in that trim, and I'm also unsure...

Hi everyone,

I would like yous opinions with a very frustrating problem I am having with my daughters 2007 Peugoet 206 1.4 8v petrol car please.

So far I have:-

Checked for fault codes (but I don't have a PP200 device yet) one code for misfire on injector 4

Fully charged the battery

Changed the spark plugs and the coil

Removed the fuel pump...

This issue started earlier in year when it was barely freezing out. so my BSM has failed on my 2005 407 with 136 hp petrol 2-litre engine. I have purchased a second hand unit so the car runs great now,
but i would rather find a brand new one, wich seems impossible since they don't make them anymore.
So my question is: can i replace it with another unit?

I think it's better to wait until the BSM that's in now breaks down until i take a chance on the other one. The car doesn't even have 60.000 miles on the clock, so i guess it will run for a few years more.
Strange, never had problems with spare-parts when i drove Volvo!

Hi everyone,

My 307 had the drivers window panel disconnected when I bought it, so I reconnected it, and all seemed fine, but I have noticed that every window will do auto up and down except the drivers, which will only auto down, and not up.

Is this likely to be the embedded controller in the panel, or may I be able to retrain it?

807 equiped with 2.0 HDI, 100kW engine and disturbingly loud turbo whistle.

It seems to run OK when cold. Loads of power and acceptable turbo noise.
But as engine gets warmer whistle becomes more and more noticable until it becomes disturbingly loud when at load (no whistle at no load). It is so loud that it seems like turbocharger was positioned...

I thought a 2007 207 GTI with with the timing chain snapped(so I never seen it running), it's got 62k on the clock, iv done head gasket and timing chain and all the other required parts, the engine starts but got no boost! If like i was driving a 1 liter(only took it down the road and back) iv just had enough tbh! Someone help me please

Hi all
I will try to articulate the problem as clearly as possible.
1. Cold start no problems
2. Hot start within 30mins of engine stop (approx) no problems
3. After longer stops must wait 2 to 3 hours before it will start. (turns over endlessly)

Normal start, the Glowplug light flashes on very briefly
No start situation, the Glowplug light...

Another pothole another pair of shocks to replace. This time I wasn't concentrating and I lost a little gearbox oil. I'm not sure how much so I will need to top it up. The box is top filled under the battery so does anyone know a way to check the oil level on these? It was replaced in March.

I would have used a new crush washer, to ensure a good tight seal. Copper washers can (over time when in contact with a hot surface) harden up and then not provide such a good seal when reused.

Our 205 timing belt tried to escape !!!!! :oops: :oops:

Our 205 td was losing water and it appeared to be coming from behind the injection pump. It was about time that it had a timing belt kit so we ordered that along with a new water-pump.

We stripped it down and removed the injection pump...

I've decided to keep the 207 when we replace the Berlingo, but it's got the standard oil leak from the right hand corner of the head. As ever, it'll be the headgasket. I'd imagine it doesn't nees a skim as it runs perfectly.

Is this a difficult DIY head gasket to do? Seems a shame as it was done 3 years ago with new belts, tensioners and...

We've got a camper with a 2003 Peugeot Boxer 2.0 diesel engine. Only 24,000 genuine miles.

Since we bought it last year it has always been quite slow to drive. Can get to 60mph on the flat but as soon as you get to an incline it really struggles. Our mechanic thinks it is probably a turbo problem.

Limp Nightmare P1198 407 HDI SW.

Fuel flow regulator was replaced and it didn't fix my issue.
After DPF delete and EGR delete and remap by HDI tunning is when my issues started.
I was getting DPF was getting clogged warnings.

Goes into limp mode at 80mph but sometimes I can go 100mph sometimes I can go only 65mph before limp mode.

Could be back pressure in the exhaust due to a clogged cat or exhaust, try disconnecting it an running it - somewhere quiet!
