Hi!
Can anyone tell me if the cup that holds the strut on the top of a 307 should be a tight fit all the time. WhenI lower the car and the strut gets compressed the cup at the top actually comes away from the bodywork. Is this correct??? I have a 307SW 2.0Hdi 136, 2006 registration.
I changed springs and struts about three years ago. Didnt change the trut top mounts and of course they went in time as the car has done a lot of miles (currently 255000). However, I did notice there was this gap on the cup. I have now had another strut top mount disintegrate after two years. So, I am wondering if something is wrong (no idea what, maybe given wrong struts/springs?) if the cup at the top holding the strut should be tight all the time and this gap is causing premature breakdown of the top mount???
