Alarm siren testing
Hello, we have a 2010 Peugeot Boxer converted by Autocruise into a camper van, the issue we have is the alarm siren, I did note the previous post on this but no conclusion, ours is the same issue, turn on ignition and yellow alarm symbol stays on, start the engine and the main waning key and lock is illuminated and a message , the alarm system is unavailable, if I turn ignition on then off the warning symbols do not appear, checked alarm by locking the vehicle while inside ,allow the system to arm then open a door, no siren and alarm warning light is flashing red, I remember when setting the alarm and deactivateing the siren would sound momentarily but this does not happen now. does the siren have a battery in it for tamper proofing , can it be changed or can the siren be tested and replaced if required? Many thanks and hope we can find the issue, stay safe.

Re: Alarm siren testing
Id first check the siren & its connector for water ingress, not sure if this one has a battery or not but normally the are not designed to be replaceable.
The siren is behind the front bumper at the O/S, you may be able to get at it if you remove the wheel arch liner

Many thanks, will check this out, local Peugeot dealer tells me the siren is replaceable but need the system checked to verify faulty

Re: Alarm siren testing
Sorry, I thought you meant replacing the battery inside the siren which is not normally replaceable separately. The complete siren can be replaced on its own.

Re: Alarm siren testing
I’ve just bought a camper boxer 335 and get the same, start and get alarm unavailable and warning light. Off and on and goes off but haven’t checked siren yet assuming probably the same though! Did you ever find out what the issue was? Easily resolved fault or siren/anything else need replacing? Thanks
