Anyone changed one.... :?

Been getting sporadic ESP / handbrake fault coming up - changed the brake light switch a couple of weeks ago which improved things a lot, but it's still there. Finally got a Lexia :-D and plugged it in, expecting to see Yaw sensor or steering angle sensor - but no, only fault is U1208 - communication with engine ECU....

Started the car today and immediately came up with engine fault , plugged my ultra expensive (£20) code reader in and got P0405. Any ideas on a fix please ?

Pumped steering lock to lock to drain steering rack. Emptied my reservoir, pump line and refilled today with 5 Ltr Hydraflush (£26.10) @ 141,250 miles I tried to get the clear fluid to run through all the brake lines but was running low.

I have just replaced the engine stabilizer mounting on my 2.2 HDi and unfortunately while manouvering the coolant tank I have broken the nylon end of the coolant vent pipe which runs along the front of the engine connecting the venting tank to the piping at the other end of the engine. It is not the upper one that warms the diesel but the other one more down.
Does anyone know what that one does?

Does anybody know the correct part number for the slip ring connector in the steering column? My dashboard airbag light is illuminated and resecuring the under-seat connectors didn't solve the issue.

I had an independent service done recently and the garage ran some diagnostics which showed loads of faults (about 50). I'd noticed a few issues (stop/start being inconsistent, configurable display panel going blank...) so booked it in with Citroen - it's still within 3 year warranty.

The cruise control is not working in my Xantia MK II. I checked the brake light switch on the brake pedal and it is OK. When the cruise control is activated I can hear a click of a relay but the cruise control will not engaged .
The cruise control vacuum unit ( bellow ) in the engine bay looks OK .

I am looking to purchase some diagnostic software so that I can make a start on a dead Xsara Picasso 1.6 petrol on an 07 plate.

The car belongs to my parents, and their budget is limited. I am a competent (coughs quietly) engineer and perform most of my repairs :rofl2:

The car decided it would not start again and is now sitting on their drive....

After a new Cat, new passenger side rear bearings and a bit of welding my 20 year old bog standard Xantia is good for another year. Replaced the Hub on the rear as Eurocarparts had a good deal, £15 for a brand new hub with bearings. =D> :lol:

Lovely Fred lost 5th gear this morning. Was driving along in 5th on the motorway when the gearbox made an almighty noise (blender with nails in it?). Reading on here it seems likely that 5th gear has exploded, but that it’s possible I may be able to change the cog and fork in-situ. Providing that the gearbox is not internally damaged!

According to service.citroen.com my car´s heater has this heating resistance, but it´s not clearly working. In cold days there´s no heat until engine gets warmer.

The relay was very difficult to start - turned over fine, but wouldn't fire. After a lot of cranking it did fire, but then started making the noise in the following video
I checked the oil and it was very low - Topped it up but noise remains.

So it seems my turbo underboost problem is at last solved. The small nut that adjust the wastegate control arm was just hanging slack in the middle of the arm. Adjusted it and hey presto.......... I now have full turbo power again.
