Hello guys,
The problem with the vehicle citron c4 grand picasso
2008 VIN N0: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
The esp, abs lights and auto handbreak lights have come on - the vehicle has gone into limp mode. Auto transmission isn't working anymore. Hill assist is also not working. I used to change the vehicle gears manually by the stick - by switching to nuteral then back to manual for an entire year - however the vehicle is working properly no issue with the gear box and engine and the handbrake is also working manually. I remember that this issue came up when I converted the vehicle suspension by installing coil springs in it instead of air bag. Recently the vehicle has been diagnosed by RAC breakdown cover, according to the RAC engineer the issue is that the relevant module isn't communicating with the main ECU, and the fault will not be known until the ECU module is changed. "I assume that relevant module must be suspension module" because he told me that the fault comes from suspension because the vehicle has been converted into coil and the module is still trying to communicate with the major ECU and I feel whenever I start accelerating (in 1st gear) the car starts vibrating vigriously. I got a full report from RAC engineer however the report contains multiple issues but im concerned with the revelant fault so I don't bother to solve all of them as the car is quite old but is in running condition. If this fault will be fixed the car will qualify for MOT and that's my concern. I'm attaching the diagnosis report with this post and I hope I will find a solution from this forum and all replies would be appreciated.
Kind regards
Hassan

Re: Esp/ABS/auto handbreak/ suspension faltiy
The EGR valve is causing it - see there are EGR valve faults in the engine ECU. These cause a drop out of engine info to the ABS / ESP ECU resulting in the faults. Fix the EGR and the handbrake should fix itself.

I wouldn't trust that report as far as I could throw it, and I am surprised that it's an RAC report - for a start it lists an EVS1 fault with the AL4 Automatic Transmission - which your vehicle does not even have!
You don't have an automatic transmission fitted. You have a manual gearbox and clutch with 'piloted' actuators that do the gear and clutch changes. AN AL4 is a fully automatic gearbox with torque converter.
I would be very dubious about anything else in that report, especially as it's listing all possible engine variants engine ECUs at the top of the report too. You have a '9HZ' engine, so why is it even listing every other possibility?
Anyway, as Richard says, the EGR is the likely culprit if you can trust that report, along with the mass air flow meter possibly, but deal with the EGR first and then get it diagnosed again.
