Has anyone swapped a Lucas Epic pump on a Xantia 2.1TD at all?

Or does anyone know of any difficulties fitting one?

Just had my clutch, clutch cable and clutch clip replaced and since I have got it back the speedo appears to be a bit random. I'm driving along and the speedo says 50 then without a change in my speed the speedo will drop to 40 and then go back again. It moves in a kind of jerky way rather than a smooth drop down and smooth rise....

I have a 2.0 turbo XM,
the problem is, the engine wont start when it's hot.
Its ok starting from cold, and it runs ok. But if I turn it off and try to restart it, it starts and runs for a couple of seconds then dies.
after that it simply turns over but refuses to fire up.
If I leave it a few hours...

I wonder if anyone who is completely au fait with the activa, would give my car the once over, and tell me what it needs to bring the suspension back to its former glory!

I called GSF today at their Birmingham main branch to ask if they stocked front strut spheres for an Activa. Part number N45335 used to be stocked for this purpose.

The lady on the phone was very helpfull and searched her information for some time.

She couldn't find any reference in her present databases, but, she reverted to an older system and...

Does it have to be replaced periodically?
If the answer is positive, what are the intervals and how to do it?

XANTIA code reader socket, which models have one, and were are they located, as i have probably wasted 65 squide on a code reader from fleabay,

its a MEMOSCAN U581, only just got it yesterday, and not sure what it can (CAN) do, it is supposed to read CAN and OBD 2, have i bought a kipper or citron (lemmon)

I've been getting a Noise from the front end when I drive off after the Car's been sitting for a while.
It appears to come from the Steering Rack/Front Suspension area.
sounds like something lifting and then settling back down . That's about the best description I can think of
Any ideas ?

I've noticed over the first two weeks of ownership, that when I come to a halt at traffic lights/whatever, that the car doesn't initially creep backwards/forwards like the rest of the fleet do if the handbrake isn't applied.

On switching off and getting out of car there is a ticking or creaking from back end.........like a slow tick tock Tyre wear looks even. Could this be the start of rear bearings on subframe. Does anyone know of the major differences between the BE3 and BE5 gearboxes. I have found the site through this forum which details the dismantling of a BE3 gearbox which I want to employ on my 1997 model 2 litre DOHC manual - sold here as an Image model which has a BE5 gearbox. Looks like an ideal job for a winter's weekend here.

I removed-eventually- the oil cooler on my HDi 90 Xant. The one that came off was made by MODINE-USA. The spare I got from a breaker (from an HDi 90) , is a VALEO. The Modine one is half as heavy again compared with the Valeo.

My drivers side pretensioner and seat raising and lowering whatsit are both knackered.
Down the scrappy they've got a Mk2 W reg Xantia, providing that this is in the same colour/material as mine would the Mk2 seats fit into my Mk1?
Are the pretensioners different?

I've just run out of warranty on my C5 estate and will be digging out the tools again. The main dealer who did my first MOT says the front discs are at the limit (26 mm) and advises replacement at a cost of £350.
Parts at GSF are around £70.
