PICASSO VIBRATION THRU CLUTCH PEDAL

Unread post by tryercar »

Hi,

I have a X reg Picasso 1.8, 71K miles.

Over the last few weeks there has been a metallic rattling at low speed, low revs and sounds just like a piece of heat shielding rattling (or something else fairly flimsy rattling), but I can't find anything loose. The sound is not as bad when engine is warm.

One other possible suggestion was something to do with the auxilliary pulley getting loose or wearing out or the plastic interior breaking up.

The rattle is still there and now I can feel a rough vibration thru the clutch pedal.

Is this another pointer toward needing to get the cambelt changed and replacing the auxilliary pulley? or something else entirely.

No DMF on these. Could be the clutch or release bearing starting to break up. The exhaust heat shield rotted off on ours and made a right old racket - but that's pretty obvious looking underneath.
