Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi. I’m trying to get a towbar for my 2010 Citroen C5 Tourer 3.0 V6 HDI. Every place I’ve tried has asked is it’s twin exhaust model and the hydropnaumatic suspension and rear parking sensors, which it is and then I’m told no one makes one to fit. Can anyone advise me where to look to get one, it’s to tow my sons Moto X bike. Thank you.

I have an old, but quite nice Citröen XM, 2.5 TD from 1997 in my garage. I've been thinking about turning into my daily drive - pretty cool. The ABS light is lighting up, though, and has been since I board it 3 years ago. I have successfully installed CC on plenty of early VAN/CAN C8's no problem but have never tried it on a full CAN version like yours.

Dear colleagues,

on my C5 X7 (=Mk3) one of the power mirrors ceased folding. It opens and closes only in a limited angle range. Pushing/pulling by hand did not help, the el. motor/gears are stucked somehow. Saw a nice YT video by a slovenian guy how to replace the motor:

G’Day Folks,
I’m dismantling my 1.6HDI engine and I’m not sure if the studs that are used to hold the injectors down need to come out to remove the cam box.
The Torx ends on the studs are very small. Do the studs go right through to the head and should I remove them using two nuts backed up to each other?
The Haynes manual is not very clear.

along with crank seals each end as one was bad, the other profuse. The replacements do not require lubrication if they come in a PSA black plastic box as they are specialised seals that use friction sealing (basically the heat from the engine shrinks them to stop any leaks).

Hi.
How do I know if I have Xenon or Halogen headlamps? Manual for my C4 Picasso says if I have Xenons, I don't need bean convertors for driving on the continent.
My best guess is the Xenons are a colder white than the yellowish Halogens? What's the definitive source, please?

When you switch your headlamps on does the light on the wall do a little dance up and down? If they do they're high intensity lamps, xenon or LED depending on model and year. If they don't then probably they're halogen. Yes, high intensity lamps are a whiter light than halogen.

Maybe photo of the headlamps might help?

Hey.

My C4 Picasso has developed some black spots, circles, disks on the display. Is this a fault? Isn't it weird that hey are circles? In all my years of using computers, glitches are usually a bit more random than that!

On the photo, note the 4 spots at the bottom of the display: a large one, two smaller, and another large.

Any thoughts,...

That's hard to say to be honest, but you may want to call Citroen as there was a technical bulletin concerning these display issues with the instrument panel - they may be willing to replace under a goodwill gesture.

I just bought a C4 Picasso from a dealership. I'd given it a test run and, some seconds after locking it, the alarm sounded. The dealer assured me it was probably just the trade plates interfering with the volumetric sensors.

Unfortunately, I took him at his word and promptly forgot about it. Drove the car home and sure enough, a minute...

Would anyone have the compression figures for a 1.4i TU3 (KDX) on a '97 ZX.

Did a compression test today and each cylinder recorded 120psi/8.2bar.

However, it runs out of steam a bit after 70mph so I did the test to see how worn it might be. Being the 1.4 means it probably isn't the fastest anyway. It's a good car in most ways and I've spent a bit making it right and it's a real survivor so I'd probably source a new engine or get the current one rebuilt over the winter.

It uses glow plugs too for regeneration, and if the exhaust gas temperature is 450° C then it wont need to use power 'loading'. My sisters car, Citroen C4 Picasso, currently being 'fixed' by a garage. Initial fault reading by a different garage was Adblue pump failure but the car doesn't use Adblue. I've since found out it uses Eolys fluid.

Hi all, I was driving the other day and all of the sudden 'Engine fault repair needed' message come up, I got bit worried and had it scanned twice, the first scanned revealed just codes which I couldn't find the reason (U1109) so I had it scanned with another scanner which showed few faults to fo with fuel and particulate filter, pictures...

Sorry to be posting for the first time with a bad news story, but I'd value some advice or views on my situation.

Unfortunately my 2017 C4 GP 1.6 BlueHDI seems to have had a water pump failure / seizure leading to timing belt failure etc.. True extent of damage yet to be determined, but it's going to be expensive.

I just checked more closer and I see that on 2pin big cabels I have about 14v (engine runing). On 5pin plug there just 3 cables brown,green and red.
Brown have 14v
Green about 2.36v
Red about 2.5v.
And lexia can't communicate with PS pump ecu.
But trough bsi it show fault code p047 (fault absence of communication with electronic power steering...

Today I've been busy fixing a crankshaft oil leak on my Saxo

Sadly, I broke the flange behind the camshaft sprocket... I was damaged anyway but I made it worse... I need a new one...

Was pottering around town when the C5 (2006, 138bhp 2 litre hdi, 6 speed auto) came to a halt , lots of dash lights and `gearbox faulty`.

Tried resetting ecu, but nothing at all. RAC brought it home of a flat bed.

Ongoing issue that affects bsi, engine ecu and gearbox ecu no comms on steering angle sensor.

However when I goto calibration or configure it wants to connect to the psa servers and I cant remember the lies I registered with to gain access. Is there any other way to do it. ?...

Problem solved!

I changed the wiper motor and everything works fine again!

The only things is when I do the same test as before and pouring water on the windscreen the wipers now works perfectly. Either it is possible to do test that way or there are some other problem with the sensor or something. Anyway, everything works the way I think it is...

Thanks Doo, I thought the actuator fluid tank was empty, it wasn't when it went to citroen as they told me it was fine, however, when it came back it was, or so my mobile mechanic said, so he filled it so the tank could be pressurised, there is no leak to the tank. So that's all fine.

Just had to be rescued from the lake District. Was going up a hill and i lost power. Had to limp the c5 into a lay by. It looks like there is a fuel supply problem. I've changed fuel filter about a month ago so I'm thinking it is probably the fuel sender is full of crap.

Noticed a leak from one of the front struts while i was adjusting ride height with Diagbox. Didn't make much of it as I couldn't see anything under the car so assumed it was a small leak. I take it the battery is good, and the fuel filter isn't clogged ? i did read somewhere these c3`s have trouble staring if the fuel filter is clogged. Maybe put a test on the battery see what volts you get. Bad earths on the starter motors can also be s problem , if its diesel duff glow plugs wont help either.

Hi, help needed in setting the crankshaft timing mark on an DW10 2L HDi engine where the timing was lost whilst the car had no belt on it. Car accidentally moved backwards whilst in gear when down of the ramps, there was a pin in the camshaft but not in the flywheel. I have looked for replacing a belt after a rebuild but cannot find anything....

The timing hole is into the flywheel behind the starter motor - it's pretty awkward to get at! If you know which gear it was in then you can figure out which way the crank may have rotated, and therefore which way to rotate it to get it back in time.

The proper way, if you don't drive the car for long periods of time, is to get a charger and use that to charge the battery at home. I use a sub-$20 charger. It can supply 6 amps max, and it's good enough.

Hello all. :)

Recently purchased a 2008 C5 Exclusive tourer. Got a red LED illuminated above the SOS button on the Navidrive control panel. Also, the display blanked once and the system seemed to reboot when the LED illuminated.

Can anybody tell me what this means/indicates?

I was looking to buy a Citroën C1 from 2014 with the 1.2 Puretech petrol engine. I have seen other models with the same engine but without cruise control. It’s not just fitting the stalk, but the engine ECU has to support it, so buying a model with an unsupported engine and engine ECU may be an issue.
