Hi all,
Had the ‘particle filter additive too low’ warning just come on this evening.
Can anyone tell me how to find out if it’s refillable or the pouch type please
Also, can anyone point me in the right direction for exactly what additive I need and how much of it, thanks.
If anyone can suggest how long I can now drive it for until I get this sorted I’d appreciate it, suppose to go and meet a friend day after tomorrow two hours each direction. I do have another car I can use in the meantime but it’s not especially comfortable.
Thanks all

Re: Dpf filter additive too low!
Typically for this age vehicle, you would ned the Infineum F7995 additive (Green Click Fit), but there are universal types now, so have a look here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116470420413
They should be able to verify, but you'll likely have a 3 litre tank on the X7. We can't access parts data at present.
If the vehicle doesn't think there's enough fluid remaining between now and the next service interval (see your next service mileage on the instrument cluster) it will flag the warning. Just make sure you minimise short journeys and stop start traffic.

Re: Dpf filter additive too low!
Thanks Marc.
How do I find the tank and refill it though, can’t see anything under the bonnet that’s obvious for it?

Re: Dpf filter additive too low!
It's not that easy, come on!
The additive tank is concealed behind the rear exhaust heat shield (usually the left side), and this has to be removed for access. The tank has click fit unions and is gravity filled using the filling kit. This is only included with the additive sold with filling kits - so if you just bought the solution, you'll have to get one.
Don't forget you'll need to reset the additive counter to zero in order to tell the engine ECU it has been refilled - or you will still get the messages. You'll need Diagbox or another professional level tool to do this.

Re: Dpf filter additive too low!
I do have a Lexia so that shouldn’t be an issue.
Infineum F7995 Doesn’t seem easy to find at the moment in uk, does it matter if I use something else?

Re: Dpf filter additive too low!
Looking a bit confusing now….. that link you sent comes up as not suitable for my c5, only c5’s listed for it are C5 III 08-18 1.6 E-HDI 1.6 HDI 2.0 BlueHDI
If I select my car it comes up with ‘does not fit’

Re: Dpf filter additive too low!
The one from Neo Brothers looks like a generic fluid, so I suggest you just send them your reg to make sure, as some of these are universal fluids, so best to make sure.

Re: Dpf filter additive too low!
Getting a bit closer now I think, following one looks a bit closer to your suggested spec and lists my car as correct

Re: Dpf filter additive too low!
Yes, that's another all-in-one additive that says for all generations, so should be fine.
