Need specifications to replace valve body of AL4 in C5 X7

Hello all,

has anyone here ever replaced the valve body of a Citroen C5 X7?

I've been working on a malfunctioning valve body successlessly for quite some time and would like to replace it by a refurbished one.


That seems to be anything but easy.

I learned there are at least 4 different models and that they are not interchangeable.

I read that the C5 AL4 valve body is a "2 slots plus 1" version while Peugeot has a "2 slots" version.
The difference is said to be in the intermediate plate but I have also seen differences in the actual body.

Talking to suppliers they could not tell the appropriate replacement by the provided VIN.

Some asked for a code that was to on a plaque on the AL4 case. Mine certainly doesn't have that.

I found a number engraved on the case which is supposed to be _the_ specific number of the transmission but it didn't help any either.

There is also a number engraved on the inner plate of the valve body but it doesn't provide any helpful information either.

So my questions would be:

Does anyone know how I could obtain the specific OE part number for my valve body?

How else could one find the correct criteria for a successful replacement?
