2015 C4 Picaso 1.6 diesel starter motor replacement

Trying to help my dad get his car back up and running he had an auto electrician out the other day who confirmed the starter motor had let out it's magic smoke, most garages local to him are pretty booked up and he needs the car for work. I've done various bits on other cars but mainly Ford's or Japanese cars I'm not as familiar with the French stuff I was just wondering if anyone could confirm the part number of the starter just to make sure I order the right one and if anyone had the workshop manual page for replacing the starter with torque settings for the bolts etc It's a 2015 Picaso with the 1.6 e-HDi (115bhp) and 6 Speed ETG6 and the reg is GU65XUF. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Part number requests are normally done in the following topic and it will need your vin. However, I think at the moment access to Citroen's system is down due to some changes being made so you might need to visit a Citroen dealer if you need the info quickly. viewtopic.php?t=69962

Best bet would be to remove the starter from the car and then take it to the parts place so you can compare. Removing the starter on these is not for the feint hearted... it's down the back of the engine, above the drive shaft. 3 bolts, 2 starter side, one gearbox side. The starter side lower bolt is easy. The gearbox bolt is pretty much hidden just above the bell housing, battery and possible tray out, and then do it by feel. The thrid bolt is pretty much invisible and inaccessible. It's sort of above and behind the starter solenoid - a long allen key slipped in above the starter may get on it if the right length. Ultimately removal of the drive shaft may be required to get access and remove the unit.

Having done this job a few times.....

Take out the battery and it's little shelf. It will improve access. It will come out of the hole you made, it won't (or at least I couldn't) go down the bottom. It looks like there is plenty of space, there isn't from below.
