The "clock" in the C6 loses the time setting every time I turn the ignition off : time is flashing and showing year 2000.
I set time : all is fine until I turn ignition off: correct time is lost every time and goes back to flashing on and off with year 2000 showing .
Is there a simple remedy ?
(12 Volt battery is new last year )

That behaviour would typically indicate a blown fuse, or the parking shunt is fitted in the wrong position.

Re: CITROEN C6 WON'T HOLD CLOCK TIME SETTING
I vaguely recall something on a 2003 C3 we had. When starting the car the clock would reset as though the battery had been disconnected. Only thing I did and it stopped was to replace the battery with a new higher capacity one since it was on its last legs so the voltage might have dropped very low when starting. In your case though you are saying the clock resets as soon as the ignition is turned off, not when starting so it may be something completely different.

I would agree with that, either a blown fuse or the shunt is in the wrong position.xantia_v6 wrote: 18 Mar 2025, 00:45 That behaviour would typically indicate a blown fuse, or the parking shunt is fitted in the wrong position.
Check on the BSI there will be a shunt like this one that can be fitted in 2 different positions, check it is in the 'Client' position. It is placed in the 'parking' position before it is delivered to the dealership which turns of certain unnecessary things that draw power all the time (like radio memories).

Thanks for responses to my quiery>
Clock worked fine / held its time and date settings as of December 2024 : car sat in garage until March : and now won't hold time / date settings for no apparent reason . it seems like a memory problem ( or an internal battery that must be changed ?) .
Where is the clock fuse located ?

Have you checked the main battery, was it kept charged up during the 3 months of not being used ?
