Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Morning all

I've had a dodgy flap on the passenger side for a while only allowing chilled air with the drivers side being fine. A few days ago all heat stopped, the car diverts air to where it should go but the air isn't being chilled on the drivers side its just not hot with no change on the passenger side which I would expect with the flap...

Sorry Richard only just seen this, I did get one from a breakers and actually fitted it today all back working thanks for the reply. In answer to your question I damaged it when taking the steering wheel off.

I dont suppose you would know where the main beam relay location is, i assume its under the bonnet but had read it may be under the dash...

Hello, looking at putting a new battery in my C4 Picasso.
It's a 1.6 eHdi with an automatic gearbox on a 62 plate.

While I've looked at the physical procedure for taking the battery out (rather complicated!), I remember reading somewhere that certain models of these cars could have issues with requiring the computers to recognise the new battery....

Hi, and :welc: to the Forum. When engine faults occur some driver assists can automatically disabled until the real fault has been resolved, and the Cruise Control would be such an assist, so do not waste time trying to fix that (as it will become available again once the real fault is fixed).

I have a C8, and the Gear Selector cable has snapped. The Citroen Part number is 2444Y0, but Citroen do not make them anymore, neither do Peugeot or Fiat for the similar models. Ebay do not have any and neither do any of the 40 Scrapyards I have contacted.

The part number 2444Y0 / 1495770080 seemed impossible to get hold of new, even my Peugeot dealership could not get one and there where no second hand ones about. Turns out the circuit board is super easy to swap over. It was apparent that both boards had different componentry. Once the boards were swapped, the fault codes cleared and everything was perfect again. Hopefully this helps whoever wants to swap actuator assemblies from different vehicle configurations

I have got Diagbox 9.68 and have recently topped up my diesel additive but I can not find where to set the reading to zero which is what most forums advise to do. I have been through the menus and tried to clear it, and the fault keeps coming up.

I am in the process of checking my diesel injection system due to a leak from injector (2012 C5 X7).

Just realised it's Gearbox Oil you wanted, (thanks Steve) - must have been having a male blonde moment.

The link I provided still provides the info under the gearbox section, and if you have a manual gearbox, then TOTAL TRANSMISSION BV 75W80 is what you need.

Hi all, had warning light for depollution system popping up on my grand c4, 1.6 hdi.
Took to the garage and he has put an addetive in the fuel and told me to blast it for a bit.

He said the other option is to take apart and clean but these engines are renowned for the parts breaking whilst doing so would be last resort as could end up just...

The P1351 you can ignore for now, most HDIs seem to have it and it shouldn't cause issues. The EGR ones shouldn't put the car into safe mode from my experience/knowledge except maybe P0402. But for the other codes, you definitely need to go to some garage and have it all checked properly.

Each time I turn off the ignition on the c5 I notice that the front (and very occasionally, the rear) lowers by a few inches. Is this normal? It does the opposite when you turn the igniting on, that is, it raises a few inches and this is totally independent of you sitting in and adding weight.

Thanks, I did suspect it was supposed to do this. I do wonder why it lowers that bit when the engine is turned off. If I turn the ignition back on without starting the engine it raises back up. Turn off the ignition and it lowers once more at the front. It's almost as if it has a sort of 'parked stance' that is lower than its normal height for...

I would like to ask You, what could be this cable used for? I found it in the fuse box compartment below the board/BSI. It is Citroen C5 X7 1,6HdI, manufactured 2010.
Previously I thought, that it would be for the preheat relay, but it is not. Another point is, I have no preheat symbol displaying during engine preheat on the dashboard...

Hi all,

Been a while since posting but still got my S reg Xantia and it's still good!

Have just been for a pre mot and the 2 LHM suspension return pipes are cracking and need replacing.

They are only about 1 ft long rubber pipes (that sit under the wheel arch) but does anyone know the name of these and if they are still gettable brand new?...

The Engine ECU does need to be told. The Menu in the Lexia will be under replacement parts and this is where you are effectively telling the engine ECU that you have replaced the DPF (even though you are just cleaning it). If you fail to do this the engine ECU will start flagging warnings at some point if it is not already doing so.

I took the wheel off and partially removed the wheel arch trim expecting to find some sort of drain hole but couldn't see anything. Did the same on the drivers side, nothing. Hi all and Help [-o<

My good lady parked the car up Friday night and yesterday morning nothing but a click when trying to start it.
Battery is 18 months old and showing charge of 12.49 volts. All the dash lights come on and didn't dim when attempting to start. Tried a jump start and nothing but a click :?

I will try that Colin thanks. It only slips when the engine is at maximum torque, if you dont push it hard its fine. One of the problems I had was air in the fuel which would cause it to spontaneously stop or at least hesitate probably giving the clutch a workout, especially when my son was driving it!

I have an ongoing issues with my vehicle and had it booked in with Citroen for a few weeks, finally they are going to look at it tomorrow.

Yesterday though, car would not start.
Battery disconnected (harder than it should be) and it was 10.1v and my battery maintenance tool said it was at 100%, and also would not enter repair mode.
New battery...

The adblue warning light kept coming on and saying that there was no adblue when it was full and that it would stop in 600 miles and I ended up having the adblue tank replaced about 2 months ago under a warranty.

The Adblue and the DPF systems are totally separate and independent of each other, so no.

Your DPF may be at end of life, so needs deep cleaning or replacing - there's not...

While coming back from a long journey, just as I got back in to my city, I felt my car judder, then it went into limp mode where I couldn't rev above a certain level.
As I drove further the car cut-out. I managed to re-start it immediately, managed to drive another 1km then it cut out again and wouldn't...

going back to this test report with the 0183 rpm, the battery voltage is at 8.5v!!!

This on it's own gives comms reading faults and may or may not be the major issue with recurring faults. Battery supply voltage in this report is definitely low and needs to be addressed as one of the faults.

It can be done in the BSI itself -by changing the multiplexed folding mirror option to 'No', but I'm not sure what other features of the mirrors that may disable, if any.

I have recently done an engine change on my exclusive hdi 110. On completion of this when i came to move the car out of the garage to take it for its mot i noticed a small leak from the 12mm pipe going into the anti sink sphere. not a bad leak...

i got small vacuum pump and system same as gunson eezibleed and have no success using that setup. anything of that - if I use 10 or 20PSI on the tank, pump the pedal and even put vacuum on the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder, there is still no movement of the fluid from the fluid tank down to the cylinders..

My front left tyre TPMS sensor is wonky. From time to time I'd get Tyre pressure not monitored warning on the dash. Other times it shows OK. Anyway, I got a replacement, so I was wondering what is the procedure to replace it properly? I have a friend that can install it, he works at at tyre shop.

Costco tyre bays have a tool to code TPMS sensors to the cars. When I had my tyres on the C5 X7 changed a few years ago they didn't worry about which wheel came off where because they simply recoded them all back in.

Since I've been getting random differential pressure sensor errors, we hooked it to diagnostics and it seems the DPF needs some good cleaning. The soot level is shown as 28% load and I have no DPF warnings but other two lines are shown as DPF load 300% and DPF ash content (or something like that) 100g. And status is shown as Blocked. Hello all, I noticed today the number plate lights were not on with the headlights. All other rear lights were fine and the powered rear hatch working too. I couldn't see any fuses listed in the driver's manual for any of the rear lights either. When I got home they seem to have come back to life. They're fairly recent LED replacement units.

Obviously i checked the battery and then assumed it was the starter motor/solenoid. i replaced the starter - still wouldn't start. Hello

I have a Peugeot expert with the RHK engine that have no power. It feels just like the turbo is dead.

It began with the rocker arms failing due to broken timing belt.
Changed them and put everything back. It started right away but had no power.

I have checked the timing several times.

Bought a used head which I took the cams and hydraulic lifters from and put in my engine.
Couldn’t see any differences in my cams or the others and it didn’t make any difference.
Same slow car.

I’m short from ideas.. But..
one thing I have noticed is that someone has made a mark on the belt pulley probably when the belt has been changed...

G'Day Folks,
I'm looking at saving my Xantia V6 for Best by not slogging it back and forth to work.
I have been offered an immaculate C4 HDI 1.6 EGS for a nominal sum with an engine that has failed due to the dreaded oil starvation.

The only actual damage visible so far are the 1 and 3 big end journals.
Massive clean-up needed - I have access to a large ultrasonic bath.
The main issue is going to be the availability of undersized bearings or getting the journals built up.
