A glowing conundrum

Unread post by darbuck »

Hi All, I am having an issue with my C5 X7. The glow plug light won't go out unless I start the engine. So far scanned her with diagbox P1350 and P1351. Ran the activation program and the relay was clicking on and off. Tested the resistance on the glow plugs and 0.00 to 0.01 ohms so at a loss. Tried refitting ECU fuse box and the relay itself. Tried reseating the earth wires in the engine bay.Any suggestions welcome?

Have you tried a BSI reset?

Has anyone tried the Hitachi type aftermarket relay unit for these.

In case you were wondering, the latest Glow Plug Relay Part for your specific vehicle is: 9645668680 (8V-59,5X74,5), £97.97

Ok so I've been out to update car bsi rain dance didn't work. I did an ohm test at the connector again I have between .7 and 1 ohm resistance so the plugs are good they should be they're Bosch and haven't done 100 miles since fitting them. the fact. That the I am able to measure the resistance tells me the wiring is good as well and P1350 indicates the relay is the problem. Does anyone have an opinion on this diagnosis before I buy a new one? Once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." Or something to that effect 🤔😃

Hi all, I have this issue again. I know the last time it turned out to be the relay. I will test circuit later on. I obviously disturbed something when I had the engine and gearbox out this time. She sta to ts and runs fine it's just another bit of grief because with the glow plug light staying on she throws up the depollution system faulty message. Its frustrating to say the least.

Ok so I have load tested the circuit from the glow plug relay to the glow plug connector at the back of the engine and it's fine I have tested the glow plugs with a test light and they are fine. Could it be the bloody relay again.
