Bosch ME7.4.7 ECU voltage to camshaft position sensor

Unread post by BenCitroen »

Hi,

Can someone confirm that the voltage coming from the Bosch ME7.4.7 ECU to the camshaft sensors should be 5 volts?
C5 X7 with v6 petrol ES9A engine.

Greetings from Amsterdam.

You can't say this, because the signal to the computer is more and square wave signal with a top of 5 votl to 0 volt, this depends of the position of the camshaft.
You can compair it with the crankshaft sensor.
So the voltage to the sensor is 5 volt but to the computer it's variable between 5 and 0 volt.

What is the reason after this question?
Sometimes when the distribution belt is replaced, there's a problem with the camchaft sensor, but it's always, that the timing position, this one not 100% correct done.

Hallo Kees
So 12 volts coming in from the ecu is not correct, it should be 5?
I understand that from the sensor to the ecu is variable.

The reason is a P0343 and a P1335 error.

And a not working variable camshaft timing.

Cam sensor voltage on most PSA cars is normally 12v
