My R-plate Xantia 1.9TD estate which I use for commuting has started giving me a jittery ride. I did some citrobics earlier and noticed that the rear suspension neither sinks nor lifts when I fiddle with the height adjuster.

Anyone think they know what this could be and whether it's expensive to repair? Unfortunately the car may have to...

I was out 20 mins ago and noticed the temperature gauge creeped up to the half way mark, when it usually barely leaves the COLD mark! It didn't go any hotter than the middle but still worried me. What could be causing this ? According to the service history it had a coolant flush 2,000 miles ago and had 2 new hoses and a new thermostat in 2008....

Just got a nice towbar from fleabay (Bosal detachable, used) and before I rip the entire back of the car apart (C5 2.2HDI 2001), can anyone tell me where (and if) there is a connector I can plug it all into?
The bar has twin electrics (wires all cut off but I have them) - rewiring to the 12n sockets will be easy (famous last words...) but...

The Haynes manual has a habit of over simplifying things, but even to me it looks dead easy.

if it's the smaller of the two then it's a 4.5mm seal you need.

The big pipe may have either a 6.5mm rubber seal or a brake-type flare and if the latter then in the bottom of the threaded bore in the pressure regulator is a round metal seal. It's one you can be unaware even exists and forms a seat for the flare. These occasionally go...

just had my 58 plate C5 exclusive cut out on the outside lane of the motorway at 75mpg....I had to coast into the hard shoulder.

a warning on the dash about depollution fault flashed up and the engine cut out !! I restarted the engine and the fault disappeared, the car started and I drove off again....very odd.

My son`s 05 C5 VTR has an n/s rear brake calliper that has corroded right by where the pad retaining pin goes through. We will get a replacement calliper from a local factor.
The question is; do you bleed the brakes the same way as the Xantia 2 .???

Have recently bought a S reg Xantia HDi SX and have been restoring and fixing problems. Have fixed everything now and am happy with it.

The last problem I have to solve is the bonnet. It appears to have some water or heat penetration that has caused the laquer layer to bubble. Very small bubbles all over the top of the bonnet.

My ZX has not been in use for some time but I had it connected to a solar battery charger.
However, I came out to move it this morning and it won't start due to the battery being flat (lights go out when trying to start). The battery is only three months old so I wouldn't expect it to just fail and there has been no warnings on the dash....

Is this stuff what I need for my 98 1.9 td xantia? the bottle says for pre-96 PSA cars, its a lucky find at work so hoping its okay.

Just about every car handbook I've read shows provision for Taxi Equipment ......except the Xantia.

I would guess these are extra circuits for things like transcievers, taxi lights, fare computers etc.

Anyone with a V6 found a source for replacement bushes for the top engine mount. Both the small and large bush have just about had it and it'll be over a ton for the pieces d'origine as the come as complete assemblies.

had a few niggles with car and took it in to have my fault codes read

came back with

camshaft sensor
egr excessive flow

replaced the sensor but unsure about the egr one? mechanic reckons could just be build up of carbon on it??
anyone got any info on where it is and how to clean it down?
