Hi,
Newbie here.
I have a 1992 2.0 liter XM, hasn't run in 12 years. Got it started with ether, then pouring fuel down the injector body. Sounds good.
Only getting 6.5 volts to the fuel pump. I have read there is a wiring loom with plugs under the LHM tank?
Can someone enlighten me about the electrical feed to the pump?
Cheers,
P.J.H.

Re: XM Fuel Pump wiring
there is a fuel pump relay on the front of the ecu box. i think its a purple one.. you could try looking in this area first for any dry or corroded connections...

Re: XM Fuel Pump wiring
Hi, Thanks for the quick answer. I opened the ECU box and there are 2 relays, both bluey / black. They both tested good. There are other connectors: one next to the relays I've mentioned that has nothing on it, but has yellow / white wires going into it, and I think 2 others on the opposite side of the ecu.
when I disconnected one of the relays (I think it was the right side one) something started clicking furiously on the inside right fender. Disconnecting the other produced no results. The car is a basic model: no frills, no AC, nothing. Not even a keypad for an "anti demarrage". I read somewhere that there is a cluster of wires under the LHM reservoir that some people hardwire by removing the connectors. True?
One this was a bit odd however, there is a two pin connector to the left of the throttle body (looking form the front of the car) that is disconnected. Connecting it doesn't do anything I could see, but any idea what it is?
Cheers,
PJH

Re: XM Fuel Pump wiring
I have had electrical problems caused by corrosion on the underside of the engine compartment fuse box.
