1999 xantia central locking issue.

Unread post by Chris570 »

My lovely HDi has decided to lock then unlock immediately whether locking on the key or plip. the Lexia says there is a permanent fault with the LH Door button. All doors lock and unlock ok with the actuator test. So, does anyone have an accurate wiring diagram or suggestions?

Check the harness connection block on the lock, I've come across problems there on a few Xantia's now causing the exact same problem.

Cheers for that, checked both n/s doors and all connections are ok but i did find a broken wire in the rear one, which explains why the window doesnt work. all the other wires seem good so ideally now need a diagram so i can check continuity back to the cph.

sodding rain has stopped play for now

Using Lexia have you observed live info on the locking state of each door? Normally with such a problem of the locks immediately unlocking it's down to a problem on the front door lock/s.

Hi Chris

Where are you based?

I have a complete set of Xantia Dealer Level Workshop Manuals including Electrical Diagrams. They take some understanding though.

with the lexia you can lock the doors and deadlock them successfully, as far as i can see from the available menus everything is working as it should.

What does lexia show when you are looking at the perameter menu for the locking state of the doors? It might show which door is causing the problem by one showing unlocked whereas the others are locked helping you know where exactly to direct your attention.

Cheers for the support so far :)

i've found the issue it's pin 3 on the drivers side door motor back to the CPH that has a break in the door shut.

I've started to remove the glovebox to get to the CPH (and kill the traffic master if I feel like it) but i can't find the screws holding the bottom of the glovebox in.

any suggestions?(for when the rain lets up:( )

Feel for the dimples in the felt. There's one in the left corner; can't remember the others offhand.

Yeah, the thin felt what's stuck on the glovebox "floor".

OK, aside from the perimeter screws with rubber buffers, there is one on the lower right flange - clearly visible to the eye, and one in the centre of the lower felt near its forward edge. Then there's one in the "back" felt on the left lower corner.
