Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

As some may know replaced the cradle for the Reat Height corrector on my Xantia the weekend.

Totally gunked up and would not raise at all. Stuck on lowest setting.

Replaced the cradle and the car rose as it should, (just checked whilst under the car)

However once I packed all my tools away and got the car out of the garage, realised something...

Does anybody know of a source of info that will cross refer Part numbers as found on the Citroen Service parts list to actual numbers that may be found on the component.!!
e.g additve ECU for 2.2Hdi C5 Citroen list four Pt No's depending on year 1525 AS 1525 AZ 1525 CZ 1525 CY which actually bear no resemblance to any of the numbers on an actual...

Tony - Here is a link to the correct ECU:

The software stated in the documents is 0973 300 9904 (which is marked on this unit in the link above the part number). Can't find any of these without the -01 at the end of the part number - all the ones I've seen seem to have it - so not sure if this anything to worry about. :-D

Hello Guys,
I've got massive play in my accelerator pedal, about half of its total travel. This is indicated on a couple of posts as being the source of a couple of bad behaviors by the car so I'm keen to adjust it. I located one post that says ow to do it but it doesn't seem as simple as described. I can't locate the engine bay end of the cable...

This refers to Citroen C5 2.0hdi Mk2 with 56 Number plate, regularly serviced and has 60200 miles on the clock.
After 5years of fantastic service my beloved C5 is now begining to show tantrums.

Has anyone bought any seat covers for their C5 ?
My upholstery is a little tired and I've seen some great looking cover sets on ebay but I can only imagine they are hard to fit and wont look like the photos that are shown on the ebay ad.

I have a 2003 C5 and the drivers side inertial reel does not wind up the webbing. However when I take the seat belt off and leave the slack laying on the seat the next morning it has fully wound itself back. You can see it winding really slowly.
To get to the reel it looks like I may have to remove the seat. Any sugestions on this please?

Apologies if this has been asked before but...

I have a C5 Estate 53 plate (2003/04) and over the last 18 month the rear has become very bouncy and I can feel every bump clonk in the road.
There are no leaks on the rear spheres and I had a mechanic look underneath and nothing obvious.
The hydro suspension works beautifully and there is no sinkage...

Despite my asking the local National Tyre depot to only tighten the wheel bolts to the correct torque and to take care with the security bolts I found myself in a situation where the security bolts on 2 wheels would not undo due to the rounding off of the holes in the bolt by use of too much force.

After fruitless hours trying to get my Immobiliser issue sorted and having almost a half a success in that it did run then again, half an hour later it was beeping at me I decided to throw in the towel. i stupidly put the wipers on the other day when frozen and stripped one of the blades.
went and bought some new ones that were 26 and 24 . put them on. wipers continued to collide and then stopped working altogether. after they were taken off i did notice that the two blades on there were BOTH 24 , one of them wasn't longer. any idea why?!

The early dispatch up to 2006 had the 2.0 8 valve hdi the 2007 newer model had the 2.0 16v hdi engine as an opition. Pretty sure your C5 will have the 2.0 8valve .The pre 07 dispatch is a very good van , I had one myself and found it comfortable and economical . The chap i sold it to 4 years ago still has it and is very happy with it .

I have a 2005 Berlingo which has had the axle collapse problem (108k). At first I didn't realize it was the axle (never would have suspected it :roll: ) and I fitted new rear shocks thinking that would cure the noise... sadly not, then with more reading of Berlingo woes I found out about it... Some 2 months later, I now have a reconditioned axle...

Update... It was the rear shocks (- aftermarket ones -) the nuts on the bolts were tight up against the 'horizontal' bolt sleeves; metal to metal. So a dozen M16 washers and a load of grease and all nice and quiet again :)

I have just done the leak off test on this car but the results seem inconclusive, could I have some opinions. I'm pretty certain there is an injector problem but this doesn't seem to help a lot.

Ay up!

Otterchops nearly felt the underside of my BIG hammer today.

C5 Estate - 2.0 HDI 2003

For some reason my screen washers are taking a while before water comes out.
The jets don't appear blocked (pin in hole) and its the same when weather is warm.
The rear seems fine.
Any ideas ?

Finally sorted it. Got to send the clutch kit back and went to my local dealer and brought the right one for £70. Even Citroen had it down as the wrong one. Apparently the GT model has a different clutch and bearing. Thanks anyway

Since the weather has changed and we have had some colder weather my 2009 C5 tourer has gained an annoying noise. Cant put my finger on it and it is beginning to bug me. Can anybody help me as to what this may be and is it a problem I could potentially fix? I have posted a link to a video.

I once fitted a new clutch to a peugeot 308 (very similar setup) which was suffering from this squeak as well as having a knackered clutch. I changed the dmf and clutch and made sure I lubricated the fork pivot stud as well. The clutch was fine but it still had the squeak!

Just fitted new clutch to car. So had to take battery and ecu out. A nut snapped in the engine so I tried to weld a Nut on it. As I was welding, someone shouted to stop, I asked why and they said the lights were flashing everytime I struck a weld. I earthed the welder to the chassis. What would cause this? Well first thing is check you battery is good, lots of weird things can happen if it is flat. I've seen someone nearly have a cardiac because of a flat battery - turned the ignition on and all the dials went mad, flicking up and down and lights going on and off etc.

:roll: Hi folks... I am at a loss with this one... My c5 2.0 hdi died on me at the weekend and it's destined for the scrapyard unless I can solve this mystery....

Rac said it was my fuel filter that was blocked as the hand primer was hard to squeeze...
They towed me back... And I fitted a new one
Hand primed the new filter and it is still hard...

Had the AA out to it today..... After I attempted a BSi reset as well as checking all the fuses.

The high pressure pump is not pumping anything out?
Hand primer on this model and not an intank fuel pump...

i tried posting this before but i didn't have time to check back I'm just having a problem with my 2003 c5 estate boot switch for raising and lowering the rear of the car for loading and unloading I've tried replacing the relay but still nothing no faults on lexia either.any suggestions 8-[

Left the car standing for a few weeks, battery flat, can't open the bonnet. The bonnet pull has got some resistance but it only feels as though it is against a spring it certainly isn't releasing. Can anyone help me get in without destroying the front of the car. It's a Mk1.

Doesn't specify the 2.2 engine in the Haynes book but the 2.0. 16 valve is 25Nm or 18lbs/ft. I just pull them up until they feel right. :wink:

You may remember a while back that Mandrake and I tried to change a ball joint on his Xantia - but all we succeeded in doing was mullering the castellations on the joint with his electric impact driver (hub on the car). It didn't have detectable play in it, but there is a clonk suggestive of play in it somewhere, so it may have to come...

HI anybody tell me why my 2003 hpi c5 sometimes sounds like a diesel if I go over 5000 rev it sounds normal on tick over but comes back again the engine runs fine apart from a misfire sometimes and a stutter under 2000 revs under load thanks Andy

It's the variable valve timing.
On tickover the Dephaser moves the cam a few degrees . when the car is put in gear and under load, the cam moves position and the valve position changes. The dephasers get clogged or seize and when the engine is idling the valve position is not in the correct position. Been running my Hpi for 7 years with this...

Hello all, which is the best model of the LEXIA reader for the C5 II? To date I have had no luck in getting my car started. I have replaced the fuel filter and removed the pump, which works fine. The next step is to perhaps invest in a reader, hence my question. however I have no experience with this type of instrument. Are they user friendly?...

hi everyone, it was destined to be..

I am now the new owner of a C5 X7 - a wihte auto 2.0 HDI 160HP..

but of course it is broken.. how broke remains to be seen..
The car suffered fomr low oil pressure with the previous owner (Simon, I will direct him to this post in due course) and hasn't ran since..
I have done an initial lexia session on it...

Wifey's new (to her) 2005 C5 II VTR 2.0-litre petrol is freezing her out.

It is fitted with the bi-zone climate control and the driver's side started blowing cold air only today, regardless of the temperature setting. The passenger side is working fine. The air distribution flaps work on both sides with no problem.
